Inleiding
Conciergewoning behorend bij het naastgelegen Kantongerecht gebouwd in 1910 in opdracht van de minister van Justitie en ontworpen door W.C. Metzelaar in een neo-renaissancistische trant. Woning en Kantongerecht zijn aan elkaar gekoppeld middels een tussenlid met plat.
Omschrijving
Woning in baksteen opgetrokken en bestaande uit twee bouwlagen, gedekt door een schilddak belegd met blauwgrijze kruispannen; twee schoorstenen in de nok en op drie vlakken een dakkapel met kroonlijst en fronton. Gevelopbouw met gemetselde plint, afzaten, opgaand metselwerk verlevendigd met banden in gele steen; gemetselde cordonlijst met siermetselwerk en een blind fries onder de geprofileerde gootlijst. Alle vensters zijn voorzien van hardstenen onderdorpels en gele bakstenen hanekammen. Voorgevel met twee boven elkaar geplaatste getoogde drielichtvensters voorzien van middenstijlen, wisseldorpel. De linker zijgevel is symmetrisch ingedeeld met als spiegelas twee getoogde kleine ramen onder een hanekam en een daarboven gelegen getoogd venster. Aan weerszijden en op beide verdieping een getoogd venster. Achtergevel vergelijkbare opzet als voorgevel maar met een iets smaller venster met openslaande terrasdeuren op de begane grond. De rechterzijgevel met platte aanbouw waarin een rechtgesloten paneeldeur met smeedijzeren sierroosters; aan de achterzijde van het tussenlid een rechtgesloten paneeldeur met rechts daarvan een wc-raam. Zijgevel met op beide verdiepingen twee getoogde vensters.

Dwelling constructed in brick and consisting of two storeys, covered by a hipped roof laid with blue-grey interlocking tiles; two chimneys in the ridge and on three elevations a roof dormer with cornice and pediment. Facade construction with brick plinth, cornices, ascending masonry enlivened with bands in yellow brick; brick cornice with ornamental masonry and a blind frieze below the moulded gutter. All windows are provided with stone sills and yellow brick decorative corbels. Front facade with two superimposed arched three-light windows provided with mullions, alternating sill. The left side elevation is symmetrically arranged with as axis of symmetry two arched small windows beneath a decorative corbel and an arched window above. On either side and on both storeys an arched window. Rear elevation similar arrangement to front facade but with a slightly narrower window with opening terrace doors on the ground floor. The right side elevation with flat extension in which a closed panel door with wrought-iron decorative grilles; on the rear of the intermediate section a closed panel door with to its right a toilet window. Side elevation with on both storeys two arched windows.
