Inleiding
Winkel/woonhuis gebouwd rond 1880-1890. In 1917 is een eerste verbouw uitgevoerd in opdracht van N.A. Blom door aannemer H. Zwikker (Meppel). Onduidelijk is wat er precies veranderde. In 1929 wordt in opdracht van K. Ronner en Zn. een plan uitgevoerd naar ontwerp van G. Otten en Zn. Daarbij wordt de voorgevel voorzien van een Art Deco invulling. Met name deze ingreep is van belang.
Omschrijving
Winkel/woonhuis met een in baksteen opgetrokken voorgevel voorzien van een brede gootlijst. De onderbouw is voorzien van een Art Deco pui uit 1929; gelakt hout met zwarte accenten op een hardstenen plint. Links een deur voorzien van nodige snijwerk en een bovenlicht met twee horizontale roeden en gekleurd glas-in-lood. Breed opgezette etalagepui met diepliggende winkeldeur. Strook met bovenlichten (dicht gezet).
Waardering
Winkel/woonhuis van architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de typologie, de vormgeving, het materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek alsmede vanwege het oeuvre van Otten. Daarnaast van belang vanwege de ligging in een waardevol stadsgezicht.

Description
Shop/dwelling house with a front facade built in brick provided with a broad drip moulding. The base storey is provided with an Art Deco shop front from 1929; painted wood with black accents on a hardstone plinth. On the left a door provided with necessary carved work and a fanlight with two horizontal glazing bars and coloured stained glass. Broadly laid out shop window with recessed shop door. Strip with fanlights (closed off).
Valuation
Shop/dwelling house of architectural-historical and urban planning importance on account of the typology, the design, the use of materials and the ornamentation as well as on account of the oeuvre of Otten. Furthermore of importance on account of its location within a valuable townscape.
