Inleiding
Het GEBOUW VOOR OPSLAG VAN LICHT ONTVLAMBARE STOFFEN werd gebouwd omstreeks 1823 en werd, vanwege de klokkentoren, ook wel "'t Torentje" genoemd. Het pand staat op het noordelijk deel van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord en staat precies op de scheidslijn tussen het noordwestelijke en het noordoostelijke compartiment van het complex. In het pand is tegenwoordig (1995) het Marinemuseum gevestigd.
Omschrijving
Gebouw op rechthoekige grondslag, gedekt door een omlopend schilddak met koepeltorentje boven de ingangszijde. Omlopende cordonbanden, een als impostlijst van de rondboogdeuren van de ingangspartij en een als afscheiding tussen de begane grond en de verdieping.
Waardering
Het gebouw voor opslag van licht ontvlambare stoffen, het huidige Marinemuseum, is van belang als historisch functioneel onderdeel van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord. Daarnaast is het gebouw van belang uit cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een gebouw voor opslag uit de eerste helft van de 19de eeuw in een sobere neo-classicistische bouwtrant.

Introduction
The BUILDING FOR STORAGE OF HIGHLY FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES was built around 1823 and was, because of the bell tower, also called "'t Torentje" (The Little Tower). The building stands on the northern part of the Rijkswerf Willemsoord complex and stands precisely on the dividing line between the northwestern and northeastern compartment of the complex. At present (1995) the Naval Museum is housed in the building.
Description
Building on rectangular ground plan, covered by a surrounding hipped roof with a small cupola tower above the entrance side. Surrounding string courses, one as an impost moulding of the round-arch doors of the entrance section and one as a division between the ground floor and the upper floor.
Valuation
The building for storage of highly flammable substances, the current Naval Museum, is of importance as a historically functional component of the Rijkswerf Willemsoord complex. In addition, the building is of importance from a cultural and architectural-historical perspective as a well-preserved example of a storage building from the first half of the 19th century in a sober neo-classical building style.
