Omschrijving
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Vreedenhorst. Het meest kenmerkende en oudste element van de historische aanleg is de dubbele slotenstructuur, waarschijnlijk daterend uit de veertiende- of vijftiende eeuw. De binnenste sloot, die thans voor een deel is gedempt, omsluit een vierkant perceel met centraal het huis. In de grond is het tracé van de gedempte waterloop nog duidelijk zichtbaar. Achter het huis is een boomgaard gelegen. Tussen de binnenste en buitenste sloot ligt een smalle strook grond, die aan de oostzijde een rechthoekige uitstulping maakt. De smalle strook is ingericht met een in ca. 1910 aangeplante houtwal (zuidwest), een boomgaard (zuidoost) en een moestuin (noordoost). De buitenplaats wordt aan de noordzijde ontsloten door een oprijlaan met aan het begin een houten toegangspoort staande op halfronde bakstenen keermuren. De poort is als reconstructie voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang. Voor het huis aan de Vechtzijde een gazon geflankeerd door een bomengroep. Het gazon wordt afgesloten door een rij van vier monumentale bruine beuken, waarvan de buitenste twee iets terug zijn geplaatst. Aan de achterzijde van het huis staat een solitaire taxus en een moerbei.

Description
HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate Vreedenhorst. The most characteristic and oldest element of the historic layout is the double moat structure, probably dating from the fourteenth or fifteenth century. The inner moat, which is now partly filled in, encloses a square plot with the house in the centre. The course of the filled-in watercourse is still clearly visible in the ground. Behind the house is an orchard. Between the inner and outer moat lies a narrow strip of land, which forms a rectangular protrusion on the east side. The narrow strip is laid out with a timber fence planted around 1910 (southwest), an orchard (southeast) and a kitchen garden (northeast). The country estate is accessed from the north by a drive lined with a wooden entrance gate standing on semicircular brick retaining walls. The gate is of secondary importance as a reconstruction for the purposes of protection. In front of the house on the Vecht side a lawn flanked by a group of trees. The lawn is closed off by a row of four monumental brown beech trees, the outer two of which are set back slightly. On the rear side of the house stand a solitary yew and a mulberry tree.
