Inleiding
Blok van drie dienstwoningen voor sluispersoneel, rond 1872 gebouwd onder invloed van het eclecticisme, gelegen op de vestingwal en door middel van een brug verbonden met de kanaaldijk.
Omschrijving
Eenvoudig rechthoekig woonblok met begane grond en kapverdieping. Gevels geheel opgetrokken uit roodbruine baksteen; gevelbanden en strekken in gele baksteen.
Voorgevel met drielichtvensters, waarvan de middelste getoogd en de zijlichten smaller en recht afgesloten (zijlichten niet origineel, maar ca. 20 jaar geleden aangebracht). Getoogde deurkozijnen.
In de zuidelijke kopgevel schuifvensters, waarvan 1 met verjongende stijl (2x3 ruits); in de top schuifraam met driehoekige afsluiting.
Zadeldak gedekt met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen; overstekken en eenvoudige gootlijst. In de voorgevel rijke gietijzeren muurankers; in de kopgevel eenvoudigere typen.

Simple rectangular residential block with ground floor and attic storey. Facades entirely constructed of reddish-brown brick; facade bands and stretches in yellow brick.
Front facade with three-light windows, the middle one of which is arched and the side lights narrower and straight-ended (side lights not original, but installed approximately 20 years ago). Arched door surrounds.
In the southern gable end sash windows, one of which with tapering jamb (2x3 panes); in the top sash window with triangular closure.
Gabled roof covered with half-round interlocking Dutch tiles; overhangs and simple gutter line. In the front facade rich cast-iron wall anchors; in the gable end simpler types.
