Inleiding
THEEKOEPEL behorend bij het landgoed van kasteel Almelo, in ca. 1890 gebouwd in opdracht van de Graaf van Rechteren Limpurg.
Het theekoepeltje staat, zuidelijk van de Gravenallee, tegenwoordig niet meer in een rustig natuurgebied maar langs de Van Rechteren Limpurgsingel (O).
Aan de zuidkant is een serre aan het koepeltje toegevoegd. Deze serre is voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang. De balkenplafonds in de theekoepel zijn bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving
Het zeskantige theekoepeltje is over twee bouwlagen in rode baksteen opgetrokken onder een overstekend tentdak gedekt met asfaltpapier en deels voorzien van een geschulpte gootlijst. De hoeken zijn voorzien van getand blokpleisterwerk. De entree van de begane grond bevindt zich aan de westkant, die van de verdieping aan de zuidkant boven de serre. Verder worden de gevels ingedeeld door vensters met kruiskozijnen boven witgeverfde waterdorpels en een balkon aan de noordkant. Op de begane grond is het balkenplafond geel geschilderd, op de verdieping heeft het kobaltblauwe balkenplafond de vorm van een straalgewelf.

De theekoepel is van cultuur-, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege:

TEA PAVILION belonging to the estate of castle Almelo, built circa 1890 on commission of the Count of Rechteren Limpurg.
The tea pavilion stands, south of the Gravenallee, nowadays no longer in a quiet natural area but along the Van Rechteren Limpurgsingel (O).
On the south side a conservatory has been added to the pavilion. This conservatory is of subordinate importance for the purposes of protection. The beam ceilings in the tea pavilion have been preserved.
Description
The hexagonal tea pavilion is erected over two storeys in red brick under an overhanging tent roof covered with asphalt paper and partly provided with a ogee gutter moulding. The corners are provided with toothed blockwork. The entrance of the ground floor is located on the west side, that of the first floor on the south side above the conservatory. The facades are further divided by windows with cross windows above whitewashed drip mouldings and a balcony on the north side. On the ground floor the beam ceiling is painted yellow, on the first floor the cobalt blue beam ceiling has the form of a coved ceiling.
