Inleiding
WINKEL/WOONHUIS met gerestaureerd winkelinterieur in neo-renaissancistische bouwstijl, in 1883 als snoepwinkel gebouwd in opdracht van de heer Barneveld als hobby voor zijn vrouw. Het pand staat in de Tuinstraat tussen woonhuizen en enkele winkels.
Aan de linker kant (N) staat het pand vrij. Aan de achterkant (W) is een grote aanbouw over twee bouwlagen onder een plat dak toegevoegd, die voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang is.
Omschrijving
De winkel en het woonhuis zijn in rode baksteen over één bouwlaag opgetrokken onder een schilddak met antracietgrijze Hollandse pannen. In het linker deel (N) bevindt zich de winkel, in het rechter (Z) het woonhuis. De voorgevel (O) is boven een grijze plint gepleisterd en roomwit geverfd. De voorgevel van de winkel wordt geheel in beslag genomen door een pui, in de gevel van het woonhuis is een deur tussen twee vensters geplaatst. Zowel de winkelpui als de vensters hebben een gepleisterde waterdorpel. De winkelpui bestaat uit een brede etalage, een teruggelegen entree en een smalle etalage. Dit alles onder een ijzeren latei, die geplaatst is tussen twee gecanneleerde pilasters en voorzien is van een rozet en gestyleerde bladmotieven. Links daarvan een andere fantasiepilaster. In de etalages zijn zesruits bovenlichten onder drie segmentboogjes geplaatst, in de houten deur cassettes, een groot venster en een tienruits bovenlicht. In het dakvlak boven de winkel bevindt zich een dakkapel met een achtruits venster onder een fronton. De voorgevel van het huis is van horizontale schijnvoegen voorzien.
Boven de deur en de zesruits schuifvensters aan weerszijden ervan zijn segmentbogen met hangoren, een sluitsteen en doorlopende profilering aangebracht.
In de rechter zijgevel (Z) een zesruits schuifvenster onder een strek.
In de winkel bevinden zich op de granito vloer langs alle wanden houten kastjes met casettes, ruitjes en profilering. Daarop gecanneleerde kolommetjes met ionische kapitelen, waarachter spiegels in een omlijsting van pilasters, rondbogen met rozetten en andere renaissancistische elementen. Ook in de deur naar het woonhuis rechts is geslepen spiegelglas geplaatst.
Onder het beschilderde casette-plafond is een lijst met guirlandes en gesneden consoles aangebracht.
Aan de binnenzijde van de etalages en in de deur naar de ruimte achter de winkel is geëtst glas geplaatst.

SHOP/DWELLING with restored shop interior in neo-Renaissance architectural style, built in 1883 as a confectionery shop commissioned by Mr. Barneveld as a hobby for his wife. The building stands in the Tuinstraat between residential houses and several shops.
On the left side (N) the building stands detached. At the rear (W) a large extension over two storeys under a flat roof has been added, which is of secondary importance for protection purposes.
Description
The shop and the dwelling are constructed in red brick over one storey under a hipped roof with anthracite-grey Dutch tiles. In the left part (N) is the shop, in the right part (S) the dwelling. The front facade (E) is plastered and painted cream white above a grey plinth. The front facade of the shop is entirely occupied by a shop window, in the facade of the dwelling a door is placed between two windows. Both the shop window and the windows have a plastered drip moulding. The shop window consists of a wide display window, a recessed entrance and a narrow display window. All of this under an iron lintel, which is placed between two fluted pilasters and provided with a rosette and stylised leaf motifs. To the left of it another decorative pilaster. In the display windows are six-paned fanlights placed under three segmental arches, in the wooden door cassettes, a large window and a ten-paned fanlight. In the roof plane above the shop is a dormer window with an eight-paned window under a pediment. The front facade of the house is provided with horizontal scored joints.
Above the door and the six-paned sash windows on either side of it are segmental arches with hanging ears, a keystone and continuous moulding.
In the right side facade (S) a six-paned sash window under a transom.
In the shop are wooden cabinets with cassettes, glazing and moulding along all walls on the granite floor. On these are fluted small columns with Ionic capitals, behind which are mirrors in a surround of pilasters, semicircular arches with rosettes and other Renaissance elements. Bevelled mirror glass is also placed in the door to the dwelling on the right.
Below the painted cassette ceiling a list with garlands and carved consoles has been applied.
On the inside of the display windows and in the door to the space behind the shop, etched glass is placed.
