Omschrijving bij onderdeel 5:
TOEGANGSBRUG OVER BINNENGRACHT behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Een in 1709 gebouwde brug van zandsteen blokwerk met twee rondbogen, die de verbinding vormt tussen het omgrachte hoofdgebouw en het omgrachte voorplein. Vier halfronde treden geven toegang tot de brug, waarnaast in 1949 twee buitenlantaarns geplaatst zijn. Op het midden van de brug is aan weerszijden een smalle rechthoekige uitbouw rustend op drie consoles. Voor het kasteel eindigt de brug in twee halfrond uitzwenkende keermuren waarin een hardstenen trap is opgenomen die naar de personeelsingang in de kelder en naar de 'wassteiger' leidt. De brug is voorzien van een eenvoudige smeedijzeren balustrade. Restauratie in 1987.

Description of component 5:
ACCESS BRIDGE OVER INNER MOAT belonging to the country estate Twickel. A bridge of sandstone blockwork with two round arches built in 1709, which forms the connection between the moated main building and the moated forecourt. Four half-round steps provide access to the bridge, next to which two exterior lanterns were placed in 1949. In the middle of the bridge on either side is a narrow rectangular extension resting on three consoles. In front of the castle the bridge ends in two half-round sweeping retaining walls in which a sandstone staircase is incorporated which leads to the staff entrance in the cellar and to the 'washing platform'. The bridge is provided with a simple wrought-iron balustrade. Restoration in 1987.
