Omschrijving bij onderdeel 16:
BALUSTRADE MET TUINVAZEN VOORPLEIN behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Centraal op het voorplein is een perk aangelegd voorzien van een achthoekige natuurstenen balustrade met balusters van gietijzer. De balustrade werd in 1864 geleverd. De vier doorgangen worden gemarkeerd door acht identieke 19de-eeuwse gietijzeren, grijs geschilderde tuinvazen staande op de afdeklijst van de balustrade. In het midden van het perk een 18de-eeuwse achtkantige natuurstenen fonteinkom. Soortgelijke fonteinkommen bevonden zich ter weerzijde van de opgang naar de kasteelbrug (zie fotocollectie). Bij het archeologisch onderzoek op de achterplaats in 1978 werd eveneens een dergelijke fonteinkom aangetroffen. Ed. André moet zowel de twee fonteinkommen ter weerszijden van de opgang naar de brug als die op de achterplaats verwijderd hebben.

Description of component 16:
BALUSTRADE WITH GARDEN URNS FRONT COURTYARD belonging to the country estate Twickel. Centrally on the front courtyard a bed has been laid out provided with an octagonal natural stone balustrade with cast-iron balusters. The balustrade was delivered in 1864. The four passages are marked by eight identical 19th-century cast-iron, grey-painted garden urns standing on the coping of the balustrade. In the centre of the bed an 18th-century octagonal natural stone fountain basin. Similar fountain basins were located on either side of the approach to the castle bridge (see photograph collection). During the archaeological investigation on the rear courtyard in 1978 a similar fountain basin was also found. Ed. André must have removed both the two fountain basins on either side of the approach to the bridge and the one on the rear courtyard.
