Inleiding
Een vrij hoge MUUR omsluit het terrein van de voormalige Rijks H.B.S. "Simon Vestdijk" te Harlingen aan de zuid-, west- en deels aan de noordzijde.

De muur is in gele bakstenen opgetrokken.
De muur heeft niet overal dezelfde hoogte. Bij de overbrugging naar de ingang van het complex loopt het muurtje over in de muren van de overbrugging, die lager zijn. Aan de waterzijde komt het muurtje tot aan de slootrand. Op de hoek van de Oosterstraat met de Krugerstraat loopt het muurtje over in de noord- en westgevel van een vierkant gebouwtje met tentdak. Bij de conciërgewoning is het muurtje lager. Het muurtje is aan de noordkant weer hoger en omsluit een trapeziumvormig terrein. De overbrugging over het water op de kruizing van Oosterstraat en Stationsweg is voorzien van een laag muurtje met ijzeren leuning, dat aansluit aan de muur van het schoolcomplex.
