Inleiding
De twee blokjes ARBEIDERSWONINGEN aan de Nutstraat 10 t/m 16 (naar het zuidoosten georiënteerd) en Nutstraat 5 t/m 13 (naar het noordwesten georiënteerd) maken deel uit van het sociale woningbouwcomplex gebouwd tussen 1909 en 1911 in het Havengebied van Harlingen. Deze woningen zijn in 1909 gebouwd in Ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl. Zij zijn alleen aan de achterzijde van een tuin voorzien. De woningen worden aangeduid als type D. Bij dit type horen ook de arbeiderswoningen Havenweg 41 t/m 53, waarnaar voor de inleiding op de complexomschrijving en de omschrijving wordt verwezen.
Omschrijving
De twee bouwblokken worden gedekt door een zadeldak met zwart gegolfde friese pannen, drie schoorstenen op de dakhelling boven de voorgevel en (niet originele) dakkapellen met plat dak en vierruitsvensters. De bouwblokken zijn uit bruine bakstenen opgetrokken, waarbij gele bakstenen voor de eenvoudige decoratieve elementen tussen de vensters zijn gebruikt. De zesruitsvensters zijn voorzien van lichtgebogen strekken. Boven de houten deuren met vieruits bovendeel zijn lichtgebogen tweeruits bovenlichten.
Waardering
De blokken arbeiderswoningen aan de Nutstraat 10 t/m 16 en 5 t/m 13, van het type D, zijn van bijzonder cultuurhistorisch belang:
- als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling;

Introduction
The two blocks of WORKERS' HOUSING at Nutstraat 10 to 16 (oriented towards the south-east) and Nutstraat 5 to 13 (oriented towards the north-west) are part of the social housing complex built between 1909 and 1911 in the Harbour Area of Harlingen. These dwellings were built in 1909 in Craftsman-traditional style. They are only provided with a garden at the rear. The dwellings are designated as type D. Description
The two building blocks are covered by a gabled roof with black corrugated Frisian tiles, three chimneys on the roof slope above the front facade and (non-original) roof dormers with flat roof and four-light windows. The building blocks are constructed of brown brickwork, with yellow bricks used for the simple decorative elements between the windows. The six-light windows are provided with gently curved lintels. Above the wooden doors with four-light fanlights are gently curved two-light fanlights.
