Inleiding

Geheel opgetrokken in twee kleuren baksteen, gemetseld in kruisverband.
Ankers. Bakstenen dorpels.
Geprofileerde plint. Hoeklisenen, uitlopend in een lijst met spitsboogfriezen. Ankers.
Description
Introduction
RECTORY of the St.Lambertus parish, 1911, in a traditional building style influenced by neo-Gothic that was likewise applied in the emergency church and patronage built at the same time. The rectory is situated on the apse side of the St.Lambertus church and was built on the commission of the Church Council of the parish of the Holy Lambertus.
In 1916 the rectory was extended on the left side and rear facade with a living room, a veranda with conservatory and scullery. During the Second World War the property was divided into two residential units, whereby a window in the left side facade was broken out for the placement of the second entrance. This division was subsequently reversed. The attached laundry room under a lean-to roof on the rear facade is excluded from protection.
Description
Rectory with basement, two storeys and attic storey on a rectangular ground plan, which due to a number of annexes took on an L-shape. These annexes comprise one or two storeys under flat roofs. The rectory has a slightly recessed gabled roof with half-round tiles, two ridge chimneys, three attic windows. Gutters on corbels. Entirely constructed in two-colour brick, laid in English bond.
The front facade of the rectory is symmetrically arranged. On the second storey four rectangular wooden cross windows, recessed in a pointed arch-shaped moulding with arch tympanum. The flagstaff is placed to the right of the central axis.
In the irregularly arranged left side facade three window bays in pointed arch mouldings, plastered infill sections, rectangular wooden cross windows. Moulded plinth. Corner pilasters, terminating in a moulding with pointed arch friezes. Wall anchors. Window mouldings with rounded profiles and keystone. One window was broken out and converted into an entrance because of the housing division. This now contains a panelled door with two-light fanlight.
In the angle of the left side facade and attached living room plus veranda with conservatory is a building volume of one storey under flat roof in which the side exit of the rectory to the sacristy. This corridor is provided with a rectangular wooden door and four rectangular wooden windows with ironwork, all in a segmental arch-shaped moulding. The conservatory comprises one storey and adjoins the attached living rooms of two storeys under flat roof on the rear facade. The conservatory has chamfered corner sections and is characterised by a double wooden garden door with leaded light in the side and upper lights.
The rear facade comprises two window bays with segmental arch-shaped window mouldings, rounded moulding edges, stretchers, quoins, in which single and double wooden cross windows, plastered infill sections, brick sills.

Valuation
The rectory of the St.Lambertus parish is of cultural-historical value as a particular expression of spiritual development. The architectural-historical values are determined by the aesthetic qualities of the rectory. The rectory is an important component of the religious buildings around the St.Lambertus church and because of its situation - the rectory and the emergency church are among the oldest buildings outside the city walls - is very much involved in the development of the city. The rectory is moreover of importance for the appearance of the district. The rectory moreover possesses a reasonable degree of architectural integrity and is of importance in relation to the structural and visual integrity of the urban environment.
