Inleiding
Historische PARKAANLEG van de buitenplaats Petite Suisse in landschapsstijl, XIXd, ontworpen door de Belgische tuinarchitect Gindra, voor de familie Regout.
De aanleg wordt doorsneden door een rechte laan (thans aan weerszijden met een rij beuken beplant), die van de noordwest- tot de zuidoostgrens van het park reikt en die als oprit dienst doet.
De aanleg van het park bestaat uit twee gedeelten. Het voorste (noordwestelijke) gedeelte van het park grenst aan de zuidwestzijde van de laan en bestaat uit een parkweide, die door slingervijvers en paden in landschapsstijl wordt doorsneden en door in curven verlopende paden omgeven. Dit parkgedeelte wordt door een wand van bomen (thans beuk, rode berk, es, kastanje, plataan) en heesters omsloten en door enkele ornamentele bruggen, solitairen (thans rode beuk) en boomgroepen (thans beuk) opgesierd. Het weiland ten noorden van de laan en dit parkgedeelte is als gezicht vanuit het park van belang en behoort als groenzöne bij de historische aanleg.
Het achterste, zuidoostelijke parkgedeelte is vanouds bebost en wordt door enkele slingerpaden doorsneden. Dit gedeelte van de historische aanleg wordt aan de noord-, zuidoost- en zuidwestzijde respectievelijk door een waterarm van de slingervijver, door de autoweg A2 en door de laan begrensd.
Eenvoudige, kleine ijzeren RONDBOOGBRUG op bakstenen keermuren met houten plankier en ijzeren sierleuning. De brug, die zich op de overgang van het voorste en achterste parkgedeelte bevindt, dateert uit ca. 1900.
Rode bakstenen BRUG met gietijzeren ondersteuning en siersmeedijzeren handlijsten. De handlijsten vertonen een patroon van rechthoeken, ruiten en cirkels met rozetten. De brug ligt op de as van de laan en werd omstreeks 1900 gerealiseerd.
Gietijzeren RONDBOOGBRUG op rode bakstenen keermuur, met houten plankier en siersmeedijzeren leuningen. De leuningen vertonen een rijk ornamenteel patroon van in elkaar gevlochte voluten. De brug werd omstreeks 1900 over de vijverpartij in landschapsstijl in het voorste parkgedeelte gelegd.
RUSTIEKE BRUG. IJzeren rondboogbrug waarvan de keermuren met rotspartijen en in kunststeen zijn bekleed. Het plankier en de leuningen zijn van een bepleistering met een structuur van houtnerven en boomschors bekleed. Als zodanig is de brug, waarvan de leuningen thans in ruïneuze staat verkeren, een imitatie 'Zwitserse'-brug. De brug werd omstreeks 1900 over de arm van de slingervijver aan de zuidhoek van het voorste parkgedeelte gelegd.
Twee stel HEKPIJLERS van mergel, voorzien van lijsten en medaillons, respectievelijk geplaatst aan de noordwestelijke zijde van de oprijlaan en aan de zuidwestelijke zijde als toegang tot de paden rond de parkweide. De noordwestelijke pijlers zijn voorzien van de opschriften "Dr.Poelsoord" en "Villa Kanjel". Hardstenen stootstenen. Tussen de pijlers bevinden zich dubbele, smeedijzeren hekwerken.
Waardering
De historische parkaanleg van Petite Suisse is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische - de aanleg van buitenplaatsen door industriëlen aan weerszijden van de noordelijke uitvalsweg naar Meerssen/Vaeshartelt - landschappelijke en typologische ontwikkeling.

Historical PARK LAYOUT of the country estate Petite Suisse in landscape style, 19th century, designed by Belgian landscape architect Gindra, for the Regout family.
The layout is crossed by a straight avenue (now planted on both sides with a row of beeches), which extends from the northwest to the southeast boundary of the park and serves as a driveway.
The layout of the park consists of two sections.
