The layout of the INTERIOR has remained more or less intact with the exception of the lift shafts/toilet units and the partition wall in the dining room/staff room. In the basement there are brick barrel vaults and clinker paving. On the ground floor are notably the neo-empire style central hall; the divided dining room/staff room with white marble fireplaces, stucco ceiling, oak wainscoting, pilasters with stucco corbels, parquet and chandelier; the oak staircase at the end of the central corridor; tile floor and fireplace section of the kitchen; marble floors in hall and central corridor; stuccoed entablature mouldings and garlands above the panel doors.
The interior of the second storey is relatively sober and is characterized by rough oak panel doors in mouldings. On this floor a chapel space has been fitted out, for which the wooden window frames were replaced in 1966 by steel examples with stained glass by the Vaalsenaars F. Griesenbrock. These windows were moved in 1994, during the conversion of the chapel to therapy space, to an adjacent room and to the attic.
Valuation
The country house Petite Suisse of the Regout family is of cultural-historical importance as a very distinctive expression of a socio-economic and typological development.
The major architectural-historical values are determined by the eclectic building style, the involvement of architect Wickop, the aesthetic qualities of his design, the use of materials and the ornamentation.
The ensemble values of the country house are very great. Petite Suisse is part of a series of partly nineteenth-century country houses along Meerssenerweg, Kruisdonk and Vaeshartelt, which are significant for the development of the rural area of Maastricht due to their location. Petite Suisse is of particular significance for the appearance of the region and has a very strong historical-spatial relationship with the surrounding park and the course of the Kanjelbeek.
The property has a reasonable degree of architectural integrity and is important in relation to the integrity of the surrounding landscape. Factory owners' country houses from the second half of the nineteenth century such as Petite Suisse are, also in relation to their age, very rare in a regional perspective.
