Inleiding
Eclectisch GRAFMONUMENT van de Paters Jezuïeten, XIXc, vervaardigd door H. Pierey. Gesitueerd op de begraafplaats aan de Tongerseweg, tegen de ommuring van de Joodse begraafplaats. Het grafmonument vormt als zodanig de beëindiging van de zichtas vanaf het poortgebouw.
Omschrijving
Het grafmonument van de Paters Jezuïeten bestaat uit een zeer rijk geornamenteerde hardstenen triomfboog met een dubbel smeedijzeren hekwerk, dat toegang geeft tot de grafcrypte. De triomfboog wordt geflankeerd door gotische pinakels en is voorzien van een getrapte, rijk geornamenteerde zuilenboog. Rondboogfriezen in architraaf met 11 symbolische afbeeldingen. Het fronton boven de boog is voorzien van het opschrift "Domine dona eis requiem eternam".
De crypte wordt omgeven door een rijk geornamenteerd smeedijzeren hekwerk. Tegen de bakstenen achterwand een gedenkplaat met de overledenen van de Sociëteit van Jezus, bekroond met een beeld van Christus aan het kruis.

Het grafmonument van de Paters Jezuïeten is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele, sociale, geestelijke en typologische ontwikkeling.

Description
The funeral monument of the Jesuit Fathers consists of a very richly ornamented sandstone triumphal arch with a double wrought-iron fence, which gives access to the burial crypt. The triumphal arch is flanked by Gothic pinnacles and is provided with a stepped, richly ornamented columned arch. Round-arch friezes in architrave with 11 symbolic representations. The pediment above the arch is provided with the inscription "Domine dona eis requiem eternam".
The crypt is surrounded by a richly ornamented wrought-iron fence. Against the brick rear wall a memorial tablet with the deceased of the Society of Jesus, crowned with an image of Christ on the cross.
