Inleiding
Linkerdeel van een aan de Stadhouderskade, tussen P.C. Hooftstraat en Jan Luijkenstraat, in eclectische stijl omstreeks 1885 tot stand gekomen dubbele VILLA.
Omschrijving
Linkerdeel van dubbele villa bestaande uit een parterre, bel-étage, bovenverdieping en een kapverdieping onder schuin omhooglopende platte daken met leien. De parterre is uitgevoerd in hardsteen; de twee bovenliggende verdiepingen in baksteen voorzien van een in blokstructuur aangebrachte pleisterlaag. Uitkragende gootlijst waaronder een fries met cassetten tussen profiellijsten. Alle verdiepingen worden van elkaar gescheiden door een fries voorzien van detailleringen tussen profiellijsten.
De zijde aan de Stadhouderskade bestaat uit twee traveeën waarbij de rechtertravee over de drie bovenste verdiepingen voorzien is van een op een driehoekige basis uitgevoerde erker. De hoeken van deze erker zijn voorzien van geblokte lisenen. Op de bel-étage drie erkervensters gescheiden door raamposten voorzien van cassettes en glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Op de bovenverdieping een inpandig balkon waarvan het dak wordt gedragen door een karyatide en een herme op balusters geplaatst vóór een ijzeren borstwering. In de kap een oeuil de boeuf met een door roeden onderverdeeld rond tuimelraam. Rechtertravee heeft op de bovenverdieping Frans balkon met een door het eronder gelegen fries brekende sierijzeren borstwering. In de kap een dakkapel. De uitbouw op de parterre met de twee ingangen is een latere toevoeging.
De zijgevel bestaat eveneens uit twee traveeën waarvan de linkertravee risaleert. De hoeken zijn voorzien van geblokte lisenen. Op de bovenverdieping van de rechtertravee een Frans balkon met een door het eronder liggende fries brekende sierijzeren borstwering. In de kap een spitsvormige dakkapel.
Linkertravee over drie verdiepingen uitlopend in plat dak.

Linkerdeel van dubbele villa in eclectische trant van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde alsmede van belang vanwege de stedenbouwkundige situering langs de Singelgracht.

Left part of double villa consisting of a ground floor, principal floor, upper storey and an attic storey under sloping flat roofs with slate. The ground floor is executed in ashlar; the two upper storeys in brick provided with a plaster layer applied in block structure. Projecting gutter line with a frieze featuring cassettes between mouldings. All storeys are separated from each other by a frieze with detailing between mouldings.
The side facing the Stadhouderskade consists of two bays, the right bay featuring a bay window on a triangular base across the three upper storeys. The corners of this bay window are provided with blocked pilasters. On the principal floor three bay windows separated by mullions fitted with cassettes and leaded glass fanlights. On the upper storey an internal balcony whose roof is supported by a caryatid and a herm placed on balusters in front of an iron balustrade. In the roof an oeil de boeuf with a round tilting window subdivided by glazing bars. Right bay has on the upper storey a French balcony with decorative iron balustrade breaking through the frieze below. In the roof a dormer window. The extension at ground floor level with the two entrances is a later addition.
