Vrijstaand gelegen TELEFOONCEL naar een uit 1930-1932 daterend ontwerp van de architecten J.A. Brinkman en L.C. van der Vlugt.
Omschrijving
Grijsgeverfde metalen telefooncel op vierkant grondplan. De circa twee meter hoge telefooncel wordt afgesloten door een plat metalen dak. De vier gevelzijden van de telefooncel zijn ieder circa één meter breed en bestaan elk uit vijf boven elkaar gelegen ruiten welke in metaal zijn gevat. De bovenste ruit van alle gevelzijden is gevuld met blauw glas, met daarin in witte letters - eveneens naar ontwerp van Brinkman en Van der Vlugt- het woord "TELEFOON". De overige ruiten zijn van doorzichtig glas. Eén gevelzijde (O) is de deur en draait naar buiten toe open. Deze deur heeft een metalen handvat. In deze deur is de bovenste ruit met daarin het woord "TELEFOON" smaller. Voorts is in deze deurzijde in de middelste ruit in witte letters het opschrift "OOK TELEGRAMMEN" aangebracht.
De vloer van de telefooncel op vierkante plint bestaat uit een gewapend betonplaat met terrazzo-afwerking. De plint heeft daarbij nog een ijzeren omranding.
Waardering
De telefooncel is van algemeen belang uit architectuurhistorisch en cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als zijnde een zeldzaam geworden exemplaar van het straatmeubilair dat in de periode 1930-1932 in opdracht van de PTT in functionalistische stijl is ontworpen door de architecten J.A. Brinkman en L.C. van der Vlugt. Tevens is het object van belang binnen het oeuvre van de architecten Brinkman en Van der Vlugt.

Description
Grey-painted metal telephone booth on a square plan. The approximately two-metre-high telephone booth is topped by a flat metal roof. The four facade sides of the telephone booth are each approximately one metre wide and each consist of five panes arranged vertically and set in metal. The top pane of all facade sides is filled with blue glass, with the word "TELEFOON" in white letters - also designed according to the design of Brinkman and Van der Vlugt. The remaining panes are of transparent glass. One facade side (E) is the door and opens outward. This door has a metal handle. In this door the top pane with the word "TELEFOON" is narrower. Furthermore, in this door side the inscription "OOK TELEGRAMMEN" is applied in white letters in the middle pane.
