Inleiding
Twee vermoedelijk 19de eeuwse opslaggebouwen voor hout, tegenwoordig van de "Zierikzeesche Houthandel". In verband met de aan- en afvoer van de producten zijn de loodsen aan het water gelegen, dat via de Nieuwe Haven in verbinding staat met de Oosterschelde. De rechter loods is dwars op de kade geplaatst en voorzien van twee evenwijdig aan elkaar geplaatste schilddaken. De lagere, langwerpige linker loods ligt evenwijdig aan het water en heeft eveneens een schilddak.
Omschrijving
Het object bestaat uit twee aan elkaar gebouwde loodsen, waarvan de rechter (de westelijke) de oudste is. De gevels zijn grotendeels opgetrokken uit verticale houten latten ten behoeve van ventilatie en voorzien van bakstenen plinten. De deuren en gevels aan de kade zijn geheel cremekleurig geschilderd.
De voor- en achtergevel van de rechter loods zijn als lijstgevel uitgevoerd en hebben een gesloten gevelwand bestaande uit horizontale houten delen en getoogde verticale latten delen waarin zich de opgeklampte houten latten deuren bevinden. Boven in de gevel 6-ruits vensters. De rechter zijgevel bestaat uit vier traveeen, opgebouwd uit zwart geteerde verticale latten; houten latten deuren. Aan de gevel een overkragend, met pannen gedekt, dakschild op schoren. De schilddaken, met zakgoot, zijn gedekt met rode en gesmoorde holle pannen.
De linker loods, die evenwijdig aan het water ligt, is zeven traveeen breed. De gevels zijn opgebouwd uit verticaal lattenwerk; houten latten deuren. De rechter travee heeft een uitstek, waarin zich het kantoor bevindt. Deze uitstek is na de watersnoodramp van 1953 vernieuwd. Het schilddak is aan de voorzijde gedekt met rode hollandse pannen; het linker dakvlak met gesmoorde hollandse pannen en het achtervlak met SOVH-pannen.
Bij de rechter loods is in het interieur de constructie van twee beuken met in het midden standvinken te zien. De linker loods heeft een eenvoudige spantconstructie. Alle kappen zijn onbeschoten sporen-schilddaken.

Two presumably 19th-century storage buildings for timber, currently of the "Zierikzeesche Houthandel". The right shed is placed transversely on the quay and provided with two hipped roofs placed parallel to each other. Description
The object consists of two sheds built adjacent to each other, of which the right (the western) is the oldest. The facades are largely constructed of vertical wooden slats for ventilation purposes and provided with brick plinths. The doors and facades on the quay are entirely painted cream-coloured.
The front and rear facade of the right shed are executed as cornice-topped facades and have a closed gable wall consisting of horizontal wooden sections and arched vertical slat sections in which the clamped wooden slat doors are situated. Upper in the facade 6-light windows. The right side facade consists of four bays, constructed of black tarred vertical slats; wooden slat doors. On the facade an overhanging, tile-covered roof covering on brackets. The hipped roofs, with a valley gutter, are covered with red and sooted hollow pantiles.
The left shed, which lies parallel to the water, is seven bays wide. The facades are constructed of vertical latticework; wooden slat doors. The right bay has a projection, in which the office is situated. This projection was renewed after the water disaster of 1953. The hipped roof is on the front covered with red Dutch pantiles; the left roof slope with sooted Dutch pantiles and the rear slope with SOVH tiles.
In the interior of the right shed the construction of two aisles with standposts in the centre can be seen. The left shed has a simple rafter truss structure. All roof trusses are unceiled hipped roof trusses.
Valuation
A rare typological form for Zeeland; the unspoilt layout expresses in a recognisable manner the function, which is closely linked to the location and to the historical developments of the town; as such of cultural and architectural-historical value and significant because of its rarity. Through its location the complex is also of great value for the appearance of the equally unspoilt surroundings.
