Inleiding
WOONHUIS, gesitueerd in de gesloten, zuidelijke gevelwand van de Vismarkt, als woonhuis gebouwd in omstreeks 1870 in een rijk versierde, eclectische bouwstijl, karakteristiek voor de architectuur uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw. In 1904 is het woonhuis verbouwd tot winkel met beneden- en bovenwoning. Het gebouw is momenteel in gebruik als winkel met bovenwoning en bevat een moderne winkelpui. Het interieur is geheel verbouwd.
Omschrijving
Het gebouw is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt drie bouwlagen onder een schilddak. De voorgevel is drie raamtraveeën breed. Het gevelmuurwerk van de verdiepingen is geheel gestuct en voorzien van schijnvoegen. De vensters hebben rondgezette bovenhoeken en worden op de eerste verdieping geflankeerd door pilasters met kapitelen. De pilasterstelling draagt een gestucte cordonband, waarop in stucreliëf een drietal leeuwekoppen met rank- en loofwerk is aangebracht. De vensters op de tweede verdieping staan op een doorlopende onderdorpelband en zijn omlijst met geprofileerd stucwerk. Boven de vensters zijn kuiven met loofwerk aangebracht, die doorsteken naar segmentboogvormige tympanen. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een kroonlijst waarop een viertal rijk bewerkte consoles zijn aangebracht, die een geprofileerde bakgoot dragen. De achtergevel van de verdiepingen is gestuct en voorzien van schijnvoegen en bevat T-vensters met segmentboogvormige ontlastingsbogen.

RESIDENTIAL HOUSE, situated in the closed, southern facade wall of the Vismarkt, built as a residential house around 1870 in a richly decorated, eclectic architectural style, characteristic of architecture from the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Description
The building is erected on a rectangular ground plan and comprises three storeys under a hipped roof. The front facade is three window bays wide. The facade masonry of the storeys is entirely rendered and provided with false joints. The windows have rounded upper corners and are flanked on the first storey by pilasters with capitals. The pilaster arrangement carries a rendered corbel band, on which in stucco relief three lion heads with scrollwork and foliage have been applied. The windows on the second storey stand on a continuous sill band and are framed with profiled stuccowork. Above the windows are hood moulds with foliage, which extend into segmental arch-shaped tympana. The facade is closed by a cornice on which four richly worked consoles are applied, which carry a profiled rainwater gutter. The rear facade of the storeys is rendered and provided with false joints and contains T-windows with segmental arch-shaped relieving arches.
