Omschrijving
KAPEL. In rode baksteen opgetrokken kapel, St. Mary's Chapel genaamd, op rechthoekige grondslag op enigszins uitgebouwde voeting. Zij is overkapt met een met rode terra cotta tegels gedekt zadeldak, waarvan de dakschilden naar onderen iets uitzwenken. De entree is aan de ZW-zijde gesitueerd. Deze wordt voorafgegaan door een van voren open portaal onder een met rode terra cotta tegels gedekt zadeldak, waarvan de zijgevels in rode baksteen (onder) en vakwerk (boven) zijn opgetrokken. In deze zijgevels een dubbel kozijn met klaverbladvormige tootboog met glas-in-lood ruiten. De entree bestaat uit een houten spitsboogvormige deur, voorzien van rijk siersmeedijzeren beslag.
Het gevelveld aan weerszijden van het portaal wordt door steunberen met dubbele versnijdingen in traveeën geleed. De onderste versnijding wordt door een zandstenen band gemarkeerd, die langs de gevels omgaat en die tevens de onderdorpel van de vensterkozijnen vormt. Links van het portaal een dubbel kozijn met klaverbladvormige tootboog met glas-in-lood ruiten met diefijzers. Rechts van het portaal drie driedubbele kozijnen met klaverbladvormige tootboog met glas-in-lood ruiten met diefijzers.
Aan de achter(NO-)zijde het rechthoekig uitgebouwde koor. In de ZW-zijde van het koor een spitsboogvenster met diefijzers en spitsboogvormige zandstenen strek. Tegen de hoeken van de zijgevels en achtergevel van het koor een overhoeks geplaatste steunbeer met dubbele versnijding. In de achtergevel van het koor drie spitsboog-vensters met glas-in-lood ruiten met diefijzers en met drie spitsboogvormige zandstenen strekken.
Aan de NO-zijde een rechthoekige rode bakstenen consistorie onder een met rode terra cotta tegels gedekt in het zadeldak van het hoofdgedeelte overgaand half schilddak met op het nokeinde een dubbele samengestelde achthoekige schoorsteen. In de ZO-gevel van de consistorie een enkel en een dubbel rechthoekig zandstenen kozijn met glas-in-lood ruiten. In de NO-gevel van de consistorie een dubbel rechthoekig zandstenen kozijn met glas-in-lood ruiten. Aan de NW-zijde is het schilddak van de consistorie doorgetrokken tot een luifel van het hier gesitueerde portaal van de entree naar de consistorie-kamer. Het portaal bestaat uit een rechte houten deur met siersmeedijzeren beslag. In het gedeelte van de gevel ten noordwesten van de consistorie vier driedubbele kozijnen met klaverbladvormige tootboog met glas-in-lood ruiten met diefijzers.
Centraal aan de voor(NW-)zijde de ten aanzien van de gevel iets naar voren springende zandstenen en bakstenen klokkentoren op een pilaars-gewijsuit de gevel uitzwenkend bakstenen onderstuk. De klokkentoren, die tesamen met het onderstuk een architectonische verwijzing naar een kerktoren inhoudt, wordt door een siersmeedijzeren kruis bekroond.
De kapel, die uit het einde der 19de eeuw dateert, werd ontworpen door de Engelse architect Samuel Weatherly.

Description
CHAPEL. A chapel built in red brick, called St. Mary's Chapel, on a rectangular foundation on a somewhat projecting base. It is roofed with a gabled roof covered in red terra cotta tiles, the roof slates of which curve downward slightly. The entrance is situated on the SW side. This is preceded by a portico open at the front under a gabled roof covered in red terra cotta tiles, the side elevations of which are built in red brick (below) and half-timber (above). In these side elevations a double window frame with trefoil-shaped pointed arch with leaded glass panes. The entrance consists of a wooden pointed-arched door, furnished with rich ornamental ironwork.
The facade field on either side of the portico is articulated into bays by buttresses with double offsets. The lower offset is marked by a sandstone band, which runs along the elevations and also forms the sill of the window frames. To the left of the portico a double window frame with trefoil-shaped pointed arch with leaded glass panes with cramp irons. To the right of the portico three triple window frames with trefoil-shaped pointed arch with leaded glass panes with cramp irons.
On the rear (NE) side the rectangular projecting choir. In the SW side of the choir a pointed-arched window with cramp irons and pointed-arched sandstone stretcher. Against the corners of the side elevations and rear elevation of the choir a diagonally placed buttress with double offset. In the rear elevation of the choir three pointed-arched windows with leaded glass panes with cramp irons and with three pointed-arched sandstone stretchers.
On the NE side a rectangular red brick vestry under a roof covered in red terra cotta tiles continuing from the gabled roof of the main section into a half-hipped roof with at the ridge end a double composite octagonal chimney. In the SE elevation of the vestry a single and a double rectangular sandstone window frame with leaded glass panes. In the NE elevation of the vestry a double rectangular sandstone window frame with leaded glass panes. On the NW side the half-hipped roof of the vestry is extended to a canopy of the portico situated here for the entrance to the vestry room. The portico consists of a straight wooden door with ornamental ironwork. In the section of the facade to the northwest of the vestry four triple window frames with trefoil-shaped pointed arch with leaded glass panes with cramp irons.
Central to the front (NW) side the sandstone and brick bell tower projecting slightly forward from the facade, rising from a brick base that projects pillar-wise from the elevation. The bell tower, which together with the base contains an architectural reference to a church tower, is crowned with an ornamental iron cross.
The chapel, which dates from the end of the 19th century, was designed by the English architect Samuel Weatherly.
