Inleiding
LEPROZENHUIS gebouwd in 1867 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken voor de verpleging van lepra-patienten. In opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie werd het gebouw in 1923 ingericht als Gereformeerde Kerk en later als Denpendance van het Verenigingsgebouw. Het interieur is niet meer beschermenswaardig. Het in de nabijheid van het Hospitaal Vertrouw op God gelegen gebouw heeft een eigen oprijlaan vanaf de Meidoornlaan met klinkerbestrating en laanbeplanting.
Omschrijving
Op een ruim eigen terrein gelegen gebouw met langwerpige plattegrond en haakse uitbreiding aan de noordzijde. Het geheel is uit gepleisterde baksteen opgetrokken in een sobere en traditioneel aandoende stijl en wordt gedekt door een met pannen belegd zadeldak; windveren; goot op klossen. De gevelopbouw met plint, schijnvoegen in pleisterwerk, enkele 6-ruits schuiframen en overwegend ronboogvensters met gietijzeren roedenverdeling. Westelijke gevel met opgeklampte dubbele deur, waarboven rondboogvenster. Voorgevel aan oostelijke zijde met gepaneelde deur met 2-ruits bovenlicht; dicht gemetseld rondvenster in topgevel. Aan noordelijke zijde aanleunende schoorsteen en uitbreiding in bijpassende vormgeving.

Leprozenhuis van cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch, typologisch en stedebouwkundig belang, alsook van belang voor de geschiedenis van de Rijkswerkinrichting Veenhuizen; tevens van belang als (voormalig) functioneel onderdeel van het uitzonderlijk waardevolle complex Veenhuizen. Introduction
LEPER HOSPITAL built in 1867 commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior for the care of leprosy patients. At the commission of the Ministry of Justice the building was fitted out in 1923 as a Reformed Church and later as a Dependency of the Association Building. Description
Building situated on a spacious own site with elongated floor plan and right-angled extension on the north side. The whole is constructed of plastered brick in a sober and traditionally appearing style and is covered by a gabled roof with tile covering; wind vanes; gutter on corbels. The facade construction with plinth, false joints in plasterwork, several 6-paned sash windows and predominantly round-arched windows with cast-iron glazing bars.
