HULPHOSPITAAL gebouwd in 1893 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie naar ontwerp van W.C. Metzelaar. Thans in gebruik als dienstgebouw.
Omschrijving
Sober en functioneel vormgegeven gebouw met aandacht voor enkele decoratieve details. Het uit baksteen opgetrokken gebouw bestaat uit een ruime bouwlaag en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak belegd met pannen; schoorstenen in voorste dakschild; geprofileerde goot; fries met siermetselwerk en triglyphen; rechthoekige gietijzeren hemelwaterafvoer. Kopse gevels met klimmend blokfries onder de daklijst; sierankers en rondboog zolderluik. Symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel; grote, deels openslaande 16-ruits ramen waarvan de stijlen van snijwerk zijn voorzien, verzonken tandlijsten, natuurstenen vensterbanken. Noordelijke zijde met een dwarsvolume met steekkap en een platte aanbouw; entree; ruime 6-r uits ramen met ontlastingsboog.

Soberly and functionally designed building with attention to several decorative details. The building, constructed of brick, consists of a spacious storey and is covered by a gabled roof tiled with pans; chimneys in the front roof slope; moulded gutter; frieze with decorative brickwork and triglyphs; rectangular cast-iron rainwater pipe. Gable ends with climbing blockwork frieze beneath the eaves line; ornamental wall anchors and round-arched attic hatch. Symmetrically divided front facade; large, partly opening casement 16-pane windows with carved glazing bars, recessed dentil bands, natural stone window sills. Northern side with a transverse volume with a knee roof and a flat extension; entrance; spacious 6-pane windows with relieving arch.
