Inleiding
Rechterhelft van dubbele vrijstaande villa genaamd Duinvoet uit 1920-1923, behorend tot het villapark Meer en Bosch en gebouwd in opdracht van het Bouwbureau Joh.D. v.d. Houwen naar ontwerp van de architecten J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet in cottagestijl. Een latere wijziging is het dichtzetten van het overdekte terras, met behoud van het karakter van de architectuur. N.B. De moderne eenlaags aanbouw aan de achterzijde en de garage zijn van bescherming uitgezonderd.
Omschrijving
Villa op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een bouwlaag onder een rieten zadeldak. De muren zijn van baksteen en later witgeschilderd. De voorgevel bezit aan de linkerkant een reeks vensters met smal zijlicht en de ingang. Aan de rechterkant springt de gevel iets naar voren: tegen dit deel is een forse uitgemetselde schoorsteen geplaatst. Aan de rechterkant is het (dichtgezette) terras gesitueerd, voorzien van een rieten zadeldak en een gepotdekselde topgevel. De achtergevel bezit eveneens een reeks vensters met zijlicht en een ingang. Kenmerkend voor deze architectuur is de harmonische overgang van het besloten huis naar de open natuur door middel van een overdekt terras (hier later dichtgezet) en plaatsjes met lage scheidingsmuren. De villa behorend tot het cottage-type maakt deel uit van het door J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet ontworpen villapark "Meer en Bosch". Naast het cottage-type komt hier ook het op de stijl van Frank Lloyd Wright geinspireerde landhuis voor. Het plan voor het villa-park is een goed voorbeeld van de toenmalige nieuwe filosofie over het gezond buiten wonen in de nabijheid van de stad. Waardering

Description
Villa on rectangular plan, consisting of one storey under a thatched gabled roof. The walls are of brick and later painted white. The front facade has on the left side a series of windows with narrow side light and the entrance. On the right side the facade steps forward slightly: against this part a substantial built-up chimney is placed. On the right side the (closed) terrace is situated, provided with a thatched gabled roof and a pantiled gable. The rear facade also has a series of windows with side light and an entrance. Characteristic of this architecture is the harmonious transition from the enclosed house to open nature by means of a covered terrace (here later closed) and small spaces with low boundary walls. The villa belonging to the cottage-type is part of the villa park "Meer en Bosch" designed by J. Duiker and B. Bijvoet. Alongside the cottage-type, here also the country house inspired by the style of Frank Lloyd Wright is found.
