Inleiding
Vrijstaande villa uit 1920-1923, genaamd 't Honk en behorend tot het villapark Meer en Bosch, gebouwd in opdracht van het Bouwbureau Joh.D. v.d. Houwen naar ontwerp van de architecten J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet in een door de Amerikaanse architect Frank Lloyd Wright beinvloede stijl. Latere wijzigingen zijn het dichtzetten en vergroten van het overdekte terras, met behoud van het karakter van de architectuur, het uitbouwen met een slaapkamer en de vergroting van zijramen.
N.B. De moderne dubbele garage is van bescherming uitgezonderd.

Villa op onregelmatige plattegrond, bestaande uit een bouwlaag onder met leipannen gedekte schilddaken. De flauw hellende daken bezitten een fors overstek die kenmerkend is voor de architectuur van Frank Lloyd Wright, en gemetselde schoorstenen. Eveneens kenmerkend voor deze architectuur is de harmonische overgang van het besloten huis naar de open natuur door middel van een overdekt terras (hier later dichtgezet) en plaatsjes met lage scheidingsmuren. De villa is opgebouwd uit verschillende ten opzichte van elkaar verspringende bouwvolumes. De muren zijn van baksteen en voorzien van decoratief uitkragend metselwerk onder de daklijst. De ingang is overhoeks in de linkerzijgevel gesitueerd. De rechthoekige vensters bezitten deels zijlichten. De villa behorend tot het op de architectuur van Frank Lloyd Wright geinspireerde landhuis maakt deel uit van het door J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet ontworpen villapark "Meer en Bosch". Naast dit type komt hier ook het type landhuis geinspireerd op de Engelse cottagestijl voor. Het plan voor het villa-park is een goed voorbeeld van de toenmalige nieuwe filosofie over hetgezond buiten wonen in de nabijheid van de stad.

Detached villa from 1920-1923, named 't Honk and belonging to the villa park Meer en Bosch, built on the instructions of Building Office Joh.D. v.d. Houwen according to design by architects J. Description
Villa on irregular plan, consisting of one storey under slate-tiled hipped roofs. The gently sloping roofs have a substantial overhang which is characteristic of the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, and built-up chimneys. Equally characteristic of this architecture is the harmonious transition from the enclosed house to open nature by means of a covered terrace (here later closed) and small spaces with low boundary walls. The villa is composed of different building volumes set back from one another. The walls are of brick and provided with decorative projecting brickwork under the roof line. The entrance is situated at an angle in the left side facade. The rectangular windows have partly side lights. The villa belonging to the country house type inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright is part of the villa park "Meer en Bosch" designed by J. Duiker and B. Bijvoet. Alongside this type, the country house type inspired by English cottage style is also found here. The plan for the villa park is a good example of the contemporary new philosophy on healthy country living in proximity to the city.
