Natuurstenen grafmonument Bosboom-Toussaint in neo-renaissance stijl, bevattende de graven van A.L.G. Toussaint en haar echtgenoot J. Bosboom.
Jaar waarin concessie is verleend: 1887.
Anna Louisa Geertruida Toussaint (Alkmaar 1812-Den Haag 1886) geniet bekendheid als schrijfster van historische romans; zij was gehuwd met de kunstschilder Johannes Bosboom (Den Haag 1817-Den Haag 1891).
Omschrijving.
Het grafmonument Bosboom-Toussaint is uitgevoerd in hardsteen (tombe en monument) en marmer (sculptuur en decoratieve cartouche) en omvat een rechthoekig ongeprofileerd (vernieuwde) liggende steen op lage plint (hellend), waarachter een groot monument in neo-renaissance stijl. De architecturale wand bestaat uit een sokkel in bossagewerk (ruw behakte steen), daarboven een rondboog nis, die wordt geflankeerd door twee Ionische zuilen. De zwart gelakte zuilen hebben diamantkoppen op de basementen en dragen een hoofdgestel met segmentvormig fronton. Het geheel is versierd met decoratief beeldhouwwerk, zoals de rolwerk cartouche en gesluierde vrouwekopjes op het fries, de rouwkrans binnen het fronton en de pijnappels en obelisk met veelpuntige bronzen ster er bovenop. Deze omlijsting, die aan de achterzijde verzorgd maar soberder is afgewerkt (Ionische pilasters in plaats van zuilen, geen decoratief beeldhouwwerk) dient als decor voor het beeld van de muze der dichtkunst.
Deze op klassieke wijze uitgebeelde vrouwefiguur met lier in de ene en bloemtak in de andere hand is een schepping van Bart van Hove (1850-1914), wiens signatuur rechts opzij van de sokkel van het beeld is aangebracht. Op de zerk boven de inscriptie is een veelpuntige ster binnen een verdiepte cirkel aangebracht.
De hardstenen omlijsting werd eveneens gesigneerd: links opzij A.J. van Boom; rechts opzij Bart van Hove en Bernard Springer. Eerstgenoemde was vermoedelijk de steenkapper, de laatstgenoemde vermoedelijk de ontwerper van het neo-renaissance monument.

Description.
The Bosboom-Toussaint grave monument is executed in sandstone (tomb and monument) and marble (sculpture and decorative cartouche) and comprises a rectangular unprofilated (renewed) horizontal stone on a low plinth (sloping), behind which stands a large monument in neo-renaissance style. The architectural wall consists of a socle in bossage work (rough-dressed stone), above it a rounded arch niche, which is flanked by two Ionic columns. The black-painted columns have diamond-pointed heads on the bases and bear an entablature with segmental pediment. The whole is decorated with decorative sculpture, such as the scroll cartouche and veiled female heads on the frieze, the mourning wreath within the pediment and the pine-cones and obelisk with many-pointed bronze star upon it. This framework, which is carefully finished but more sober on the rear (Ionic pilasters instead of columns, no decorative sculpture) serves as a setting for the figure of the muse of poetry.
This female figure, depicted in classical manner with lyre in the one hand and branch of flowers in the other, is a creation of Bart van Hove (1850-1914), whose signature is placed to the right at the side of the base of the statue. On the stone above the inscription a many-pointed star within a recessed circle has been placed.
