Omschrijving
In 1932-1933 naar ontwerp van S.van Ravensteyn gebouwd, op twee pijlers rustend, overkragend, rechthoekig seinhuis onder zadeldak met aan de oost-, zuid- en westzijde een brede, opstaande luifel.
Vrijwel massieve noordelijke pijler; holle zuidelijke pijler met rondgesloten deur; rechthoekige betonnen "bak" ten behoeve van het elektrisch bedieningstoestel, voorzien van ronde vensters en met aan de zuidzijde een deur en aansluitend op een ijzeren, vanaf het perron oplopende trap een bordes met eenvoudig hekwerk; boven de "bak" het vrijwel volledig beglaasde - aan de noord- en zuidzijde hellen de stalen ramen iets naar binnen - bedieningslokaal met rondom een uitspringende galerij voorzien van eenvoudig hekwerk.
Het onderhavige seinhuis is het laatste nog gave voorbeeld van de vele door S.van Ravensteyn voor de Nederlandse Spoorwegen ontworpen seinhuizen. Door de goede, geheel op de bedrijfstechnisch hoge eisen aansluitende vormgeving - mogelijk door een ingenieuze betonnen draagconstructie - is het seinhuis niet alleen een goed en representatief voorbeeld uit het werk van S.van Ravensteyn, maar ook van het bouwtechnisch en bouwkunstig vermogen van de architectuur der Nieuwe Zakelijkheid.

Description
Built in 1932-1933 designed by S. van Ravensteyn, resting on two pylons, cantilevered, rectangular signal box under a gabled roof with a broad, projecting canopy on the east, south and west sides.
Almost solid northern pylon; hollow southern pylon with a round-topped door; rectangular concrete "tank" for the electrical control device, fitted with round windows and with a door on the south side and connecting to an iron staircase rising from the platform, a landing with simple railings; above the "tank" the almost fully glazed control room - on the north and south sides the steel windows slope slightly inward - with a projecting gallery around it fitted with simple railings.
The signal box in question is the last intact example of the many signal boxes designed by S. van Ravensteyn for Dutch Railways. Through its good design, wholly meeting high operational-technical requirements - made possible by an ingenious concrete load-bearing structure - the signal box is not only a good and representative example from the work of S. van Ravensteyn, but also of the structural and architectural capability of the architecture of the New Functionalism.
