Vrijstaand paviljoen, bedoeld als lunchroom, op complexe plattegrond, bestaande uit ten opzichte van elkaar verspringende bouwvolumes van een bouwlaag hoog, onder platte daken. De draagconstructie is van gewapend beton, die bekleed is met gele baksteen. Aan het expressieve metselverband is af te lezen dat deze een bekledende en geen constructieve functie vervult. Deuren en vensters zijn van brons. De betonnen gootlijsten en bovenlateien zijn met koper bekleed. Eveneens van koper zijn de hemelwaterafvoeren. Het interieur is grotendeels gemoderniseerd. Een lunchroom is een in de tijd van ontstaan bijzonder moderne toevoeging aan een museum en in deze vorm voor Nederland uniek. Het idee is overgenomen van Amerikaanse gebruiken. Waardering.

Free-standing pavilion, intended as a lunchroom, on complex plan, consisting of building volumes of one storey high set back in relation to each other, under flat roofs. The loadbearing structure is of reinforced concrete, clad with yellow brick. From the expressive brickwork bond it can be read that this fulfils a facing and not a structural function. Doors and windows are of bronze. The concrete gutterlines and lintels are clad with copper. The roof water downpipes are likewise of copper. The interior has been largely modernised. A lunchroom is a particularly modern addition to a museum for the time of its creation and in this form unique for the Netherlands. The idea was adopted from American practices. Appraisal.
