The register's description

Inleiding.

Introduction.

Detached villa from 1903, built in transitional architecture by architects J.F. Klinkhamer and B.J. Ouendag. Description.

Villa on rectangular floor plan, consisting of ground floor and first floor under a composite roof truss with two striking chimneys. The ground floor is executed in fair-faced brickwork, the first floor is rendered. The slightly projecting end bays of the front facade are provided with gable ends, whose infill is inspired by chalet architecture. Between these is a roof dormer with gable end, closed by a balustrade. Similar gable ends are also found in the rear and right side facades. On both the left and right sides of the front facade are outbuildings, the left one having a loggia on the first floor and the right one a balcony with iron railing. To the right in the front facade on the ground floor is a three-sided bay window with zinc roof. The round-arch portico of the entrance arrangement is executed in ashlar stone. The windows are partly two- and partly three-light windows, some with fanlights with glazing bars. The rear facade has in the projecting central section on the first floor a round-arch three-light window with leaded glass separated from each other by ashlar stone mullions. In the interior many details are preserved, including marble chimneypieces and stucco ceilings, and a monumental oak staircase in the stairwell with marble wainscoting and floor. This space is covered by a stucco ceiling with star-shaped profiles. Light enters through a large three-light window with leaded glass in the rear facade. The room to the right of the entrance has an oak coffered ceiling, in which paintings of birds have been incorporated. Valuation.

Building of architectural-historical importance as a well-preserved example of early 20th-century villa construction in transitional style. Main form, detailing and parts of the interior are well-preserved. The villa has ensemble value as part of a row of three detached villas surrounded by gardens from the first decade of the 20th century (together with Eisenhowerlaan 130 and 132).
