Sluiskom, sluizen en toebehoren, onderdeel van het sluizencomplex met gemaal Houtrustweg uit 1883-1885 naar ontwerp van J. van der Vegt. Omschrijving.
Sluiskom, sluizen en toebehoren aangelegd door de hoofdingenieur van de Provinciale Waterstaat Ir. J. van der Vegt aan het in 1888 gereedgekomen Haagse Afvoerkanaal De sluizen met houten deuren hebben gemetselde kademuren met hardstenen afdekplaten en gebosseerde hoeken. Hier en op de ijzeren voetgangersbrug zijn ijzeren hekken en gedecoreerde gietijzeren lantaarnpalen uit de bouwtijd. Waardering.
Sluiskom, sluizen en toebehoren van cultuurhistorisch waarde vanwege de geografisch-stedelijke belangrijke ontwikkeling van de aanleg van het Afvoerkanaal met regulerende voorzieningen voor de waterhuishouding. Lock chamber, locks and appurtenances laid out by the chief engineer of the Provincial Water Authority Ir. J. van der Vegt at the Haagse Afvoerkanaal completed in 1888. The locks with wooden gates have moulded quay walls with hardstone coping plates and rusticated corners. Here and on the iron footbridge are iron railings and decorated cast-iron lamp posts from the construction period. Valuation.
