Inleiding.
Vrijstaande villa in eclectische stijl uit circa 1883 op samengestelde plattegrond. Een ijzeren tuinhek vormt de begrenzing met de straat. Het is een van een groep villa's aan de gebogen Paleisstraat, die werd aangelegd nadat de gemeente van Koning Willem III de koninklijke bezittingen achter het paleis aan de Kneuterdijk had overgenomen. NB. De in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken aanbouw op de hoek van de achtergevel en linker zijgevel valt buiten de bescherming. Omschrijving.
Villa, thans in gebruik als ambassade, bestaande uit gedrukte begane grond en twee hoge verdiepingen onder een met zink gedekte mansardekap. De gepleisterde voor- en linker-zijgevel bezitten geblokte hoeklisenen en cordonlijsten; de lage parterre heeft een gebosseerde bepleistering. De voorgevel is asymmetrisch van opbouw; links een vooruitspringende hoekpartij van twee vensterassen met hoger opgetrokken kroonlijst gedragen door eclectische consoles; op de rechterhoek een risaliet. De vrijstaande linker-zijgevel heeft eveneens een vooruitspringende hoekpartij, alsmede een houten serre uitbouw met rijk gesneden houten omlijsting onder de geprofileerde gootlijst. De meeste vensters bezitten getoogde en geblokte omlijstingen met sluitstenen. De bovenvensters in de hoekpartij worden overdekt door een breed, segmentvormig fronton. In de kap rijke eclectische dakkapellen en oeil-de boeufs in zinken omlijsting. De gepleisterde rechter zijgevel is zeer sober en vrijwel blind.
