Omschrijving.
Vrijstaande fabriekshal uit 1905-1907 in overgangsarchitectuur, in oorsprong bestemd als stokerij voor de gasfabricage. De fabriekshal op rechthoekige plattegrond heeft een basilicale opbouw, onderverdeeld in drie beuken, waarbij de zijbeuken door pannen lessenaarsdaken en de met een lichtbeuk verhoogde middenbeuk door een gebroken dak met plat wordt afgedekt. De in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken gevels worden verlevendigd met gele verblendstenen banden en hardstenen onderdelen op constructief belangrijke plaatsen. De langsgevels bevatten ieder twee rijen van twaalf vensters. Onder de houten vensters met roedeverdeling in de bovenlichten zijn hardstenen lateien. De topgevels hebben licht risalerende middentraveeën met in de top "rondboogvormige" houten vensterpartijen. De bedrijfsingangen op de begane grond zijn gemoderniseerd. Inwendig is een ijzeren draagconstructie van geklonken vakwerkspanten toegepast.

Fabriekshal van architectuurhistorisch en typologisch belang als waardevol voorbeeld van een bedrijfsgebouw in overgangsstijl en van belang als onderdeel van het complex van de voormalige Tweede Gemeentelijke Gasfabriek.

Description.
Detached factory hall from 1905-1907 in transitional architecture, originally intended as a stokehole for gas manufacturing. The factory hall on a rectangular plan has a basilical structure, subdivided into three aisles, with the side aisles covered by pantile lean-to roofs and the central aisle, heightened by a clerestory, covered by a pitched roof with flat section. The facades, constructed in ashlar masonry, are enlivened with bands of yellow facing brick and sandstone elements at structurally important points. The long facades each contain two rows of twelve windows. Below the wooden windows with glazing bars in the fanlights are sandstone lintels. The gabled ends have slightly projecting central bays with "round-arched" wooden window sections at the top. The business entrances on the ground floor have been modernised. Internally, an iron load-bearing structure of riveted lattice trusses has been employed.
Valuation.
Factory hall of architectural-historical and typological importance as a valuable example of a business building in transitional style and of importance as part of the complex of the former Second Municipal Gas Factory.
