SMEEDIJZEREN HEK MET BAKSTENEN PIJLERS. Monumentaal dubbel smeedijzeren traliehek met rijk versierd smeedijzeren bovenstuk met voluten en krullen en met in het centrum het in een ovaal veld gevatte in 1958 aangebrachte ineen gevlochten monogram van Van Heeckeren - Van Weede, waarboven een kroon. Het hek wordt geflankeerd door monumentale bakstenen samengestelde pijlers op samengestelde geprofileerde zandstenen sokkel en met samengestelde geprofileerde zandstenen afdekplaat. De pijlers worden bekroond door een zandstenen vaasvormig ornamentstuk met een hals van gestileerde acanthusbladeren en een vierkante buik, waarop in 1958 wapens zijn geschilderd. Dit ornamentstuk wordt aan de bovenzijde door een drie-dimensionale kroon afgesloten. Aan weerszijden van de pijlers een voluutvormig smeedijzeren vleugelstuk.
Het hek en de pijlers dateren uit ca. 1750 en zijn oorspronkelijk afkomstig van de buitenplaats Leeuwenhof te Overschie. In 1958 werden op de as van het huis het hek en de pijlers aan de oostelijke buitengracht geplaatst.

Description
WROUGHT-IRON GATE WITH BRICK PIERS. Monumental double wrought-iron lattice gate with richly decorated wrought-iron upper section with scrolls and curls and with in the centre the entwined monogram of Van Heeckeren - Van Weede set in an oval field, added in 1958, above which a crown. The gate is flanked by monumental composite brick piers on a composite moulded stone base and with composite moulded stone capping plate. The piers are crowned by a stone urn-shaped ornamental piece with a neck of stylised acanthus leaves and a square body, on which coats of arms were painted in 1958. This ornamental piece is closed at the top by a three-dimensional crown. On each side of the piers a scroll-shaped wrought-iron wing piece.
The gate and piers date from around 1750 and originally came from the country house Leeuwenhof at Overschie. In 1958 the gate and piers were placed on the axis of the house at the eastern outer moat.
