HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT. Among the oldest sections of the layout of the park at Bingerden belongs the Classicist structure of the straight approach avenue and the axis of the house, which this avenue intersects at a right angle. This situation is depicted on the map of "Het Have Saedt en adelijke Huijs Bingerden" by H. van Heijs from 1778 and dates in part perhaps already from the seventeenth century. The moat arm on this side was excavated into a spacious watercourse in landscape style, which runs in serpentine curves along the west and SW side of the park, on the south side of the house borders a meadow with tree groups (beech, oak, plane, willow, all nineteenth- and twentieth-century) and wooded sections (beech, oak, plane, likewise nineteenth- and twentieth-century) and is partly outlined in a curve on the south side, and subsequently empties into the outer moat. To the west of the house, adjoining the lawn here with a solitary plane tree, from the excavated earth of the watercourse in landscape style a hill of considerable height was laid out (place name: Bergje), which was planted with deciduous trees (currently beeches, perhaps still in part late eighteenth-century and mixed deciduous trees, nineteenth- and twentieth-century) and which reinforces the perspective effect of the view from the house in a westerly direction. From the end of the eighteenth century also dates the small serpentine pond with a solitary oak on the Mariendaalseweg, which with the day labourer's dwelling here (Mariendaal) forms a picturesque scene on the outside of the park in landscape style at Bingerden. This area forms a whole with the woodland on the cadastral parcels Angerlo numbers H154 and H135, which in the historic layout serves as a valuable green buffer. The historic layout further includes the ruin of the originally Medieval castle Kell situated on the Mariendaalseweg, which at the end of the 18th century and in the nineteenth century as a picturesque object graced the walk along the road to the village at the east end of the layout of Bingerden.
