Omschrijving
Een van een combinatie van twee vrijwel gelijktijdig gebouwde 17e eeuwse huizen met twee bouwlagen, een zadeldak evenwijdig aan de straat en kelders.
Deze twee huizen zijn ontstaan tijdens de 17e eeuwse vernieuwingsgolf, waarbij de veelal bescheiden bebouwing op de achtererven van het kapittel van Sint Jan vervangen werd door royalere zelfstandige woonhuizen.
Voorstraat 59 is een geheel onderkelderd voorhuis van twee lagen, later uitgebreid naar achteren. De voorgevel met geblokte strekken boven de vensters is in de 19e eeuw gepleisterd. De zijgevel, vrijstaand aan een vroeger steegje, heeft op de verdieping twee dichtgezette kloostervensters en een sieranker in de top.
De kelder bestaat uit zes ribloze kruisgewelven rustend op vierkante pijlers.
De kap op het voorhuis loopt over Voorstraat 61 door en bestaat uit grenen spanten.
Hele pand is van architectonische en bouwhistorische waarde.

Description
One of a combination of two virtually contemporary 17th-century buildings with two storeys, a gabled roof parallel to the street and basements.
These two buildings were created during the 17th-century renewal wave, whereby the often modest buildings on the rear plots of the chapter of Sint Jan were replaced by more spacious independent residences.
Voorstraat 59 is an entirely basemente front building of two storeys, later extended towards the rear. The front facade with banded projections above the windows was plastered in the 19th century. The side gable, free-standing at a former alley, has on the storey two blocked-up monastery windows and an ornamental wall anchor at the top.
The basement consists of six ribless cross vaults resting on square piers.
The roof on the front building runs over Voorstraat 61 and consists of pine roof trusses.
The whole building is of architectural and historical importance.
