Omschrijving
Middeleeuws hoekpand van momenteel drie bouwlagen, met zadeldak loodrecht op de straat en wolfseind voor, voorgevel met kroonlijst uit het eerste kwart van de negentiende eeuw en rijke winkelpui uit 1899.
Het vier vakken diepe pand is goed bewaard gebleven met uitzondering van de vernieuwde voorgevel en de zolder, die in 1883 uitgebouwd werd door verhoging van de zijmuren. Zo kwam een tweede verdieping tot stand, waarbij tevens de onderste jukken van de gebinten werden verwijderd. Op de toen overblijvende zolder (veeleer de vliering) is de bovenste helft te zien van de voorheen dubbele eiken schaargebinten met gehakte telmerken op spanten en schoren. Ook de makelaar heeft een telmerk. De kap heeft rondhouten sporen.
Het pand heeft zware, samengestelde balklagen. In de linkerzijgevel is de verankering te zien, bestaande uit zware muurankers met drie groeven dwars op de neus, terwijl ook het oog een groef heeft.
De kelder heeft een tongewelf. De drie traveeën brede voorgevel is opgezet als forse lijstgevel die met drie zolderramen reeds begin 19e eeuw de tweede verdieping suggereerde die in feite pas in 1883 in het onderste deel van de zolder ontstond. De verdiepingen worden gemarkeerd met een zeer eenvoudige cordonlijst. De bovenste lijst is op de zijgevel voortgezet en markeert de verhoging. De imposante kroonlijst wordt gedomineerd door de ver overkragende gootlijst die gedragen wordt door een reeks geprofileerde klossen. In 1899 werd de tot dan vrij gesloten pui vervangen door de huidige rijke winkelpui bestaande uit een centrale ingang met bovenlicht, geflankeerd door grote etalageramen, waaronder een bewerkte natuurstenen plint. Het gekorniste hoofdgestel dat de pui bekroond wordt gedragen door zes pilasters met basementen.
Het ondiepe achterhuis had oorspronkelijk geen verdieping.

Description
Medieval corner building of currently three storeys, with a gabled roof perpendicular to the street and a half-hipped roof to the front, front facade with a cornice from the first quarter of the nineteenth century and a richly decorated shop front from 1899.
The four-bay-deep building has been well preserved with the exception of the renewed front facade and the attic, which was enlarged in 1883 through raising of the side walls. This created a second storey, whereby the lower legs of the trusses were also removed. On the then remaining attic (rather the upper storey) the upper half can be seen of the formerly double oak collar-tie trusses with roughly carved carpenters' marks on rafters and struts. The purlin also has a carpenters' mark. The roof has round wooden purlins.
The building has heavy, composite floor beams. In the left side facade the anchorage can be seen, consisting of heavy wall anchors with three grooves across the nose, while the eye also has a groove.
The cellar has a barrel vault. The three-bay-wide front facade is constructed as a substantial cornice-topped facade which, with three attic windows, already in the early 19th century suggested the second storey which in fact only came into being in 1883 in the lower part of the attic. The storeys are marked with a very simple band moulding. The upper moulding is continued on the side facade and marks the raising. The imposing cornice is dominated by the far-overhanging gutter moulding which is supported by a series of profiled brackets. In 1899 the until then fairly closed shop front was replaced by the present richly decorated shop front consisting of a central entrance with a fanlight, flanked by large display windows, beneath which a worked natural stone plinth. The corniced main frame that crowns the shop front is supported by six pilasters with basements.
The shallow rear house originally had no storey.
The building is of architectural and art-historical value, as a notable substantial medieval building on the Twijnstraat, being of importance also because, together with Twijnstraat 48, it forms a medieval alley entrance.
