Omschrijving
Pand van twee bouwlagen met kap (met voorschild) met de nok loodrecht op de straat. De zolder heeft met zijn hoge borstweringen welhaast het karakter van een verdieping.
De voorgevel, onder een eenvoudige kroonlijst, is twee vakken breed. De zolder heeft lage vensters. Het huis is onderkelderd, maar de kelder is korter dan het bovenliggende pand. De kelder heeft een tongewelf loodrecht op de straat, achteraan gedeeltelijk doorsneden door het haaks hierop staande gewelf van een kelder die zich voor het grootste deel onder Twijnstraat 14 bevindt. Deze tweede kelder ligt verder van de rooilijn, zodat er sprake is van een slechts gedeeltelijke doorsnijding. Een gemetselde kolom vangt de graat van de ontmoeting op. Deze kolom is door middel van een muurtje verbonden met de rechter wand van de kelder van Twijnstraat 12 (onderin geopend met een kwartboog, vertrekkend vanuit de kolom). De verbinding met de kelder van Nr. 14 is dichtgezet. De relatie tussen beide panden is onduidelijk. De toestand lijkt van middeleeuwse origine te zijn. Een eikehouten 17e eeuwse spiltrap, met in de spil ingewerkte leuning, geeft toegang tot de kelder.
Twijnstraat 12 biedt nog meer merkwaardigheden; het pand heeft onder de moerbalken van de beganegrond, en vooral die van de verdieping, eigenaardige en links en rechts geheel verschillende sleutelstukken. Links zitten vrij korte, veeleer als consoles te beschouwen, sleutelstukken die van bovenaf beginnend er als volgt uitzien; abacus-achtige kwartronde lijst waaronder een bandje, samen ten opzichte van het onderliggende deel naar de drie zijden overkragend. De console hieronder bestaat uit een S-vorm met boven een klein hol, onder een fors halfrond, de wangen gesierd met een in het centrum geplaatste ronde knop.
De sleutelstukken rechts zijn langer (onderling gelijk van lengte) en hebben van bovenaf beginnend een kwartrond en een bandje, dan inspringend om met een fors halfrond weer naar voren te komen. De onderzijde loopt horizontaal door tot ze met een kwarthol naar beneden buigt, op welk verticale vlak nog een torus uitspringt. De vlakke onderzijde en de wangen zijn niet bewerkt.
Het pand is van architectonische en bouwhistorische waarde.

Description
Building of two storeys with roof truss (with front-facing hipped end) with the ridge perpendicular to the street. The attic storey with its high parapets has almost the character of a storey.
The front facade, below a simple cornice, is two bays wide. The attic storey has low windows. The house is cellared, but the cellar is shorter than the building above it. The cellar has a barrel vault perpendicular to the street, at the rear partly cut through by the perpendicular barrel vault of a cellar that lies for the most part beneath Twijnstraat 14. This second cellar lies further from the building line, so there is only a partial intersection. A mortared column catches the groin of the meeting. This column is connected by means of a wall to the right wall of the cellar of Twijnstraat 12 (opened at the bottom with a quarter-round arch, starting from the column). The connection with the cellar of no. 14 is sealed off. The relationship between the two buildings is unclear. The condition appears to be of medieval origin. An oak 17th century newel staircase, with a handrail worked into the newel, gives access to the cellar.
Twijnstraat 12 offers even more peculiarities; the building has, beneath the main beams of the ground floor and especially those of the first floor, unusual keystones that are completely different on the left and right sides. On the left are fairly short keystones, rather to be regarded as consoles, which from the top down look as follows: abacus-like quarter-round moulding beneath which a band, together projecting towards the three sides with respect to the underlying part. The console beneath this consists of an S-shape with a small hollow above, below a substantial half-round, the cheeks adorned with a round knob placed in the centre.
The keystones on the right are longer (equal in length to each other) and have from the top down a quarter-round and a band, then setting back to come forward again with a substantial half-round. The underside runs horizontally until it curves downward with a quarter-hollow, on which vertical surface a torus projects. The flat underside and the cheeks are not worked.
The building is of architectural and constructional value.
