Omschrijving
Rechter helft van een zeer breed 17e eeuws huis met twee bouwlagen, een kelder en een zadeldak loodrecht op de straat.
Het is aannemelijk dat het huis samen met nr. 13 oorspronkelijk een geheel vormde en dat het pas later is opgedeeld. De kelder en de vliering zijn ongedeeld en de indeling van de beganegrond, de verdieping en de zolder maken een op zijn vroegst 19e eeuwse indruk.
Het huis neemt wel de plaats in van twee middeleeuwse voorgangers, hetgeen blijkt uit de achter de voorkelder gelegen middeleeuwse kelders. De voorkelder is in de 17e eeuw in een keer met een tongewelf overdekt. De middeleeuwse kelders zijn eveneens beide met een tongewelf overdekt. Het is niet duidelijk waarom de middelste kelders bij de 17e eeuwse nieuwbouw zijn gehandhaafd. N.B. De kelders zijn in gebruik bij Twijnstraat 15 en niet bereikbaar vanuit de bovenliggende panden.
In de achtergevel heeft het huis geen ramen, wat kan wijzen op al bestaande bebouwing aan de Twijnstraat aan de werf. De ramen kunnen ook zijn dichtgemetseld bij nieuwbouw langs de werf in de 18e eeuw. Het gehele huis is verder van de kelder tot de kap een gave 17e eeuwse constructie. De kap bestaat uit eiken spanten met krommers, ook voor de korbelen, van twee jukken. Op de onderdelen zijn overhoeks gezaagde telmerken aangebracht. In deze eeuw is de kap verbouwd tot gordingenkap.
De voorgevel behoort tot een laat 18e eeuwse verbouwing.

Description
Right half of a very broad 17th century house with two storeys, a cellar and a gabled roof perpendicular to the street.
It is probable that the house originally formed a single unit with no. 13 and that it was only later divided. The cellar and the attic storey are undivided and the layout of the ground floor, the first floor and the attic storey give an impression dating from the 19th century at the earliest.
The house does, however, take the place of two medieval predecessors, as evidenced by the medieval cellars located behind the front cellar. The front cellar was vaulted in one go with a barrel vault in the 17th century. The medieval cellars are likewise both vaulted with a barrel vault. It is unclear why the middle cellars were retained during the 17th century new construction. N.B. The cellars are in use at Twijnstraat 15 and are not accessible from the overlying buildings.
In the rear facade the house has no windows, which may indicate already existing buildings on the Twijnstraat on the yard. The windows may also have been bricked up during new construction along the yard in the 18th century. The entire house is otherwise from cellar to roof truss a sound 17th century construction. The roof truss consists of oak timbers with curved members, also for the corbels, of two yokes. Carpenters' marks sawn diagonally have been made on the components. In this century the roof truss was altered to a girding roof truss.
The front facade belongs to a late 18th century alteration.
The house forms, together with Twijnstraat 13, a sound 17th century construction, with a fine 18th century facade, and is of architectural importance as such.
