Omschrijving
19e eeuwse eenlaagse woning onder tentdak, met bijbehorend hovenierserf en schuren, gelegen aan de Minstroom.
De bebouwing van dit markante hovenierserf heeft zijn zwaartepunt aan de Minstroom en is via een oprit bereikbaar vanaf de Abstederdijk. De woning op bijna vierkant grondplan bestaat uit een kelder, een bouwlaag onder mansarde tentdak met aan de achterzijde een wolfseind. De ingang is aan de voorhof aan de zijde van de Abstederdijk, deze ongepleisterde voorgevel is drie traveeën breed onder eenvoudige gootlijst. De indeling is vrij willekeurig terwijl die van de achtergevel, gelegen vlak bij de Minstroom en in het oog springend vanaf de Zonstraat, architectonisch zorgvuldiger is uitgewerkt als ware dit de voorgevel. Het is eveneens een ongepleisterde lijstgevel, twee bouwlagen suggererend, en oogt als drie vensters breed. De middelste zijn echter blind en wit gepleisterd. Van de Minstroom af gezien links een kelderlicht, rechts een stichtingssteen: 1875. De ongepleisterde gevel links heeft nu twee vensters, een derde is dichtgezet. De lijstgevel rechts is ingebouwd door een eenvoudige aanbouw onder lessenaarsdak. Aan de voorhof grenst rechts een kleine schuur van een laag onder zadeldak met de nok loodrecht op de Abstederdijk, tussen topgevels met windveren en eenvoudige nokversiering. Ervoor bevindt zich een aanbouw onder plat dak. Tegenover de woning ligt nog een schuur die van belang is voor het omsloten karakter van de voorhof. Abstede was vanouds een hoveniersgebied, vlak bij de oude stad gelegen langs een oude weg (de Abstederdijk) en een oude waterloop (de Minstroom). De omgeving van Abstederdijk 180A/180B is een der gaafst bewaard gebleven delen hiervan. Terwijl de nabij gelegen boerderij Abstederdijk 188/190 een voorbeeld is van een erf met de bebouwing langs de weg, geeft Nr.180A/180B het beeld van het naar de waterloop verschoven zwaartepunt.
Het pand is met zijn gehele erf met aan- en bijgebouwen van zeer groot historisch belang als zeldzaam en gaaf voorbeeld van een hovenierswoning met erf in een oud tuindersgebied, tevens van belang en bepalend voor het beeld van het gebied.

19th-century single-storey dwelling under mansard tent roof, with associated market gardeners' plot and barns, situated on the Minstroom.
The buildings of this striking market gardeners' plot have their focal point on the Minstroom and are accessible via a driveway from the Abstederdijk. The dwelling on an almost square ground plan consists of a cellar, a storey under mansard tent roof with at the rear a half-hipped roof. The entrance is at the front courtyard on the side of the Abstederdijk, this unplastered front facade is three bays wide under a simple gutter line. The layout is fairly arbitrary while that of the back facade, situated close to the Minstroom and striking to the view from the Zonstraat, is worked out architecturally with more care as if it were the front facade. It is also an unplastered cornice-topped facade, suggesting two storeys, and appears three windows wide. The middle ones, however, are blind and white plastered. Viewed from the Minstroom, on the left a cellar light, on the right a foundation stone: 1875. The unplastered facade on the left now has two windows, a third is blocked up. The cornice-topped facade on the right is built in by a simple extension under a leanto roof. At the front courtyard to the right borders a small barn of one storey under gabled roof with the ridge perpendicular to the Abstederdijk, between stepped gables with wind vanes and simple ridge ornamentation. In front of it is an extension under a flat roof. Opposite the dwelling still stands a barn which is important for the enclosed character of the front courtyard. Abstede was traditionally a market gardeners' area, situated close to the old city along an old road (the Abstederdijk) and an old watercourse (the Minstroom). The area around Abstederdijk 180A/180B is one of the best preserved parts of this. Whereas the nearby farm Abstederdijk 188/190 is an example of a plot with buildings along the road, No.180A/180B shows the image of the focal point shifted towards the watercourse.
The building with its entire plot with extensions and ancillary buildings is of very great historical importance as a rare and well-preserved example of a market gardeners' house with plot in an old market gardeners' area, also of importance and determining for the image of the area.
