Twaalf in de dertiger jaren van de twintigste eeuw gebouwde kazematten ter verdediging van het riviervak in de Maas, waarvan negen kazematten zijn gelegen op of nabij de Groenendijk ongd.(de nrs. 103B, 104S, 105B, 106S, 107S, 108S, 110S, 112S en 113S), een kazemat zich bevindt nabij Everdineweerd 25 (nr. 115S) en de overige twee kazematten (de nrs. 118S en 119S) zijn gebouwd nabij Lange Oijen 14. Alle zijn gesitueerd op of tegen de westelijke rivierdijk, respectievelijk in de uiterwaard.
Gewapend betonnen kazematten van een verdieping met meerdere schietgaten van het flankerende type (de nrs. 103B en 105B), dan wel van het type Stekelvarken (de nrs. 104S, 106S, 107S, 108S, 110S, 112S, 113S, 115S, 118S en 119S).
Op 10 mei 1940 vonden bij deze kazematten hevige gevechten plaats, waarbij velen sneuvelden.
De twaalf kazematten te Cuijk en Sint Agatha vormen een betrekkelijk klein resterend onderdeel van de kazematverdediging langs de lange Maaslinie van Maastricht tot het Maas-Waalkanaal. Dit onderdeel heeft een belangrijke rol gespeeld bij de oorlogshandelingen in de meidagen van 1940.
De twaalf kazematten zijn door de betekenis voor de Nederlandse krijgsgeschiedenis, door hun situering en samenhang, hun relatieve zeldzaamheid als ook door de aldaar geleverde verdedigingsinspanning, van grote cultuurhistorische waarde.

Description
Twelve casemates built in the nineteen-thirties of the twentieth century for the defence of the river section in the Maas, of which nine casemates are located on or near the Groenendijk ongd. (the nos. 103B, 104S, 105B, 106S, 107S, 108S, 110S, 112S and 113S), one casemate is situated near Everdineweerd 25 (no. 115S) and the remaining two casemates (the nos. 118S and 119S) were built near Lange Oijen 14. All are situated on or against the western river dike, respectively in the floodplain.
Reinforced concrete casemates of one storey with multiple loopholes of the flanking type (the nos. 103B and 105B), or of the Stekelvarken type (the nos. 104S, 106S, 107S, 108S, 110S, 112S, 113S, 115S, 118S and 119S).
On 10 May 1940 heavy fighting took place at these casemates, in which many fell.
The twelve casemates at Cuijk and Sint Agatha form a relatively small remaining component of the casemate defences along the long Maas line from Maastricht to the Maas-Waal canal. This component played an important role in the military operations in the May days of 1940.
The twelve casemates are of great cultural-historical value by virtue of their significance for Dutch military history, their situation and coherence, their relative rarity as well as the defensive effort mounted there.
