Omschrijving
DOMINICANENKLOOSTER EN -KERK, 1900-1902, J.Kayser, in samenwerking met de Duitse architect G.Pickel. Indrukwekkend neogotisch complex, bestaande uit een kruisbasiliek in aan de vroege gotiek ontleende vormen en daarnaast een klooster, bestaande uit vier vleugels rond een met kruisribgewelven overkluisde kruisgang. De kerk heeft schoorbogen en een door veelhoekige traptorens geflankeerde voorgevel. Op de kruising een zeskantige houten toren. Het inwendige heeft zwart-granieten gepolijste zuilen met rijk gehouwen bladkapitelen, een triforium bestaande uit driepasnissen op zuiltjes en kruisribgewelven. Tegen de oostgevel van het transept veelhoekig gesloten kapellen. Diep eenbeukig koor, waarin gebrandschilderde ramen, koorbanken en orgel uit de bouwtijd. Ciborium door Jan Eloy Brom en Jan Stuyt. Rijk gebeeldhouwd neogotisch sacramentshuis in een der kapellen tegen de linker dwarsschipvleugel. Het klooster heeft een voorgevel, waarvan de middenpartij een trapgevel, geflankeerd door veelhoekige traptorens bezit. Vensters met stenen kruiskozijnen.

DOMINICAN FRIARY AND CHURCH, 1900-1902, J.Kayser, in collaboration with the German architect G.Pickel. Impressive neogothic complex, consisting of a cruciform basilica in forms derived from early Gothic and adjoining a friary, consisting of four wings around a cloister covered with cross-ribbed vaults. The church has flying buttresses and a front façade flanked by polygonal stair turrets. At the crossing a hexagonal wooden tower. The interior has polished black-granite columns with richly carved leaf capitals, a triforium consisting of triple arch niches on small columns and cross-ribbed vaults. Against the east façade of the transept polygonally closed chapels. Deep single-aisled choir, containing stained glass windows, choir stalls and organ from the construction period. Ciborium by Jan Eloy Brom and Jan Stuyt. Richly sculptured neogothic sacrament house in one of the chapels against the left transept wing. The friary has a front façade, of which the central section has a stepped gable, flanked by polygonal stair turrets. Windows with stone cross windows.
