TWEE neogotische BRUGLEUNINGEN ANNEX ZITBANK EN DUBBELE SLUIS ter weerszijden van de centrale dwarsas ter hoogte van de noordhoek van het grachtenstelsel, die door Jacques Adriaan Christiaan van Nagell in 1852 geplaatst zijn.
Aan de uiteinden van de noordwestelijke gracht en haar verlengde ten noordoosten van de centrale dwarsas twee bakstenen keermuren met twee overhoeks geplaatste bakstenen steunberen, het geheel door een hardstenen plaat afgedekt. In het middelste veld van de keermuren de openingen van de dubbele sluis. Aan de zijde van de noordwestelijke gracht is aan de keermuur ter hoogte van de bovenste sluisopening een hardstenen lancetboogvormig ornamentstuk aangebracht met datum: 1852, als omlijsting van een waterval, die in werking treedt indien de onderste sluis aan de noordoostzijde van de centrale dwarsas gesloten blijft en de waterstand van de in het verlengde van de noordwestelijke gracht gelegen singel zodanig is, dat watertoevoer via de bovenste sluis mogelijk is. Description
TWO Neo-Gothic bridge railings together with bench seating and double sluice on either side of the central cross-axis at the level of the north corner of the canal system, which were installed by Jacques Adriaan Christiaan van Nagell in 1852.
At the ends of the north-western canal and its extension to the north-east of the central cross-axis two brick retaining walls with two brick buttresses placed diagonally, the whole covered by a hardstone slab. In the middle section of the retaining walls the openings of the double sluice. On the side of the north-western canal, at the retaining wall at the level of the upper sluice opening, a hardstone lancet arch-shaped ornamental piece is fitted with the date: 1852, as a frame for a waterfall, which comes into operation if the lower sluice on the north-east side of the central cross-axis remains closed and the water level of the singel situated in the extension of the north-western canal is such that water supply via the upper sluice is possible. The top of the central retaining walls are crowned by a balustrade, consisting of three hexagonal white-painted balusters, in which the motif of a blue-painted pointed arch-shaped field is set. The balusters support a broad hardstone slab, whereby the balustrade also serves the function of a bench.
