BALUSTRADE, TOEGANGSHEK EN TOEGANGSBRUG aan het voorplein uit ca. 1760, gebouwd in de tijd van Jan Herman Sigismund van Nagell. Het ensemble vormt een onderdeel van de classicistische indeling van het voorplein.
De tweebogige bakstenen toegangsbrug, die op de hoofdas van de aanleg is gelegen, is aan weerszijden voorzien van een zandstenen balustrade met balustervormige spijlen, die aan weerszijden van de brug naar de gracht gesitueerde bakstenen keermuren tot aan de bouwhuizen omlopen. Op de hoeken van de balustrade vier 19e-eeuwse smeedijzeren lantaarns op smeedijzeren piedestals. Description
BALUSTRADE, ACCESS GATE AND ACCESS BRIDGE at the forecourt dating from c. 1760, built in the time of Jan Herman Sigismund van Nagell. The ensemble forms a component of the classical layout of the forecourt.
The two-arched brick access bridge, which is situated on the main axis of the layout, is furnished on both sides with a sandstone balustrade with baluster-shaped spindles, which run along the brick retaining walls on both sides of the bridge towards the canal up to the farmhouses. On the corners of the balustrade are four 19th-century wrought-iron lamps on wrought-iron pedestals. Directly above the pier between the two arches of the bridge is a richly worked wrought-iron lattice gate, composed of a winged door with lattice, flanked on either side by narrow intermediate pieces decorated with scrollwork and side sections with lattice (one of which has an access gate), with volute-shaped wing sections of scrollwork and lattice on the outer sides.
