Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de zuidoostelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een courtine tussen bastion VII en VIII en natte gracht (waaronder een deel bekend als Zalmhaven) gelegen voor de courtine.
Een gemetselde borstwering met een hoogte van ongeveer 1.80 meter en met twee embrassures bevindt zich ten noorden van de Zalmhaven, als noordelijke afsluiting.
In de natte gracht bevindt zich een dam met daarin een gemetselde schotbalksluis.

Description
Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation, moat and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the south-eastern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a curtain between bastion VII and VIII and wet moat (including a section known as Zalmhaven) situated in front of the curtain.
A brick breastwork with a height of approximately 1.80 metres and with two embrasures is located to the north of the Zalmhaven, as the northern closure.
In the wet moat there is a dam with a brick bar-slot sluice gate within it.
