HUISJE VAN KA-BUUR. Het waarschijnlijk enig overgebleven historische voorbeeld in Nederland van een illusionistisch bouwsel in de geest van Van Laar's Magazijn van Tuinsieraaden (1802), bestaande uit een houten schot, beschilderd als ware het een bakstenen gevel van een boerenhuis met een deur in het midden en een tweelichtvenster met luiken te weerszijden, een rond zoldervenster boven de deur en een schoorsteen, en, als driedimensionale componenten, voor dit schot een half-kegelvormig rieten dak, gedragen door twee vierkante houten palen, en tegen de "gevel" twee banken, bestaande uit een plank, gedragen door twee stukken boomstam. Het illusionistische effect wordt versterkt door de geschilderde figuren van een boerin (Ka-buur), die over de onderdeur leunt, een kat voor het rechter raam en een aantal voorwerpen die op de banken lijken te zijn geplaatst. Description
COTTAGE OF KA-BUUR. Probably the only surviving historical example in the Netherlands of an illusionistic structure in the spirit of Van Laar's Magazine of Garden Ornaments (1802), consisting of a wooden screen, painted as if it were a brick facade of a farmhouse with a door in the middle and a two-light window with shutters on either side, a round attic window above the door and a chimney, and, as three-dimensional components, in front of this screen a half-conical thatched roof, supported by two square wooden posts, and against the "facade" two benches, consisting of a plank, supported by two pieces of tree trunk. The illusionistic effect is enhanced by the painted figures of a farmwoman (Ka-buur), leaning over the lower door, a cat in front of the right window and a number of objects that appear to be placed on the benches. The whole originally dates probably from the 1st half of the 19th century (restored after the Second World War).
