TUINHUIS BIJ DE ELSWOUTSLAAN. Karakteristiek voorbeeld van door Van Laar's Magazijn van Tuinsieraaden (1802) geïnspireerde parkstoffering.
Tussen 1812 en 1844 opgetrokken vierkant houten gebouwtje in gemengd classicistische en gotiserende trant, gedekt door een aan voor- en zijkanten overstekend zadeldak en verdeeld in een benedenruimte en een vliering.
De oorspronkelijk beglaasde, thans open voorgevel bevat vier halve zuilen waartegen ter hoogte van de vlieringvloer bij wijze van kapiteel een krans van acanthusbladeren is getimmerd. De zuilen dragen een schot waarin tussen de middelste zuilen een gotische, in een spitsboog gevatte driepasboog is gespannen die nog van de oorspronkelijke, in ijzeren roeden gevatte beglazing is voorzien; te weerszijden hiervan zijn vierpassen in cirkels en onder de daknok een gotisch bedoeld ornamentje geschilderd. GARDEN HOUSE AT THE ELSWOUTSLAAN. Characteristic example of park furnishings inspired by Van Laar's Magazine of Garden Ornaments (1802).
Square timber building erected between 1812 and 1844 in a mixed classical and Gothic-inspired style, covered by a gabled roof projecting at the front and sides and divided into a ground floor space and an attic.
The originally glazed, now open front facade contains four half columns against which at the height of the attic floor by way of capital a wreath of acanthus leaves is carpeted. The columns support a transom in which between the middle columns a Gothic trefoil arch set in a pointed arch is spanned and still provided with the original glazing set in iron rods; on either side of this are quatrefoils in circles and under the roof ridge a Gothic-intended ornament is painted. Of the side walls composed of planks, the western contains a large, originally likewise glazed cast-iron lattice window with "Gothic" traceries.
