Omschrijving
BLOKHUT. Het monumentaalste "rustieke" bouwwerk in een Nederlands park, dienende als hertenverblijf en bestaande uit een stal voor de dieren en daarboven een hooizolder, gebouwd tussen 1812 en 1844.
Rechthoekig gebouw onder rieten zadeldak, waarvan de zijwanden en het onderste deel van de kopgevels zijn opgetrokken uit staande- en het bovendeel van de kopgevels uit liggende boomstammen. Aan voor- en achterzijde is het dak doorgetrokken op resp. vier en twee losse stammen, waardoor open voorhallen van twee en een travee zijn gevormd, waarin dwarsgeplaatste trappen leiden naar een travee diepe, tussen de stammen opgehangen galerijen voor de zoldertoegangen; deze galerijen hebben eveneens uit stammetjes samengestelde leuningen, bestaande uit vakken waarin een diagonaal kruis.

Description
BLOCKHOUSE. The most monumental "rustic" structure in a Dutch park, serving as a deer shelter and consisting of a stall for the animals and above it a hay loft, built between 1812 and 1844.
Rectangular building under a thatched gabled roof, of which the side walls and the lower part of the end gables are built up from upright and the upper part of the end gables from horizontal logs. On the front and rear sides respectively the roof is extended over four and two loose logs, thereby forming open porches of two and one bay, in which cross-placed stairs lead to galleries one bay deep, suspended between the logs for the loft accesses; these galleries likewise have railings composed of little logs, consisting of sections with a diagonal cross.
