Omschrijving
POMPSTATIONSGEBOUW met machinekamer en ketelhuis.
In 1884-88 in eclectische trant gebouwd complex, in 1895 uitgebreid, met twee uitstekende vleugels. Opgetrokken in baksteen, afgewisseld met gele ijsselsteen, onder zinken zadeldaken met lichtkoepel en lantaarnvormige ontluchtingskokers.
Alle gevels bevatten halfrond afgesloten vensters met houten roedenverdeling en eenvoudige omlijsting, en natuurstenen boogfriezen. De lange gevels bevatten lisenen en rechtafgesloten spaarvelden met tandlijsten. Aan de zuidzijde torenvormige uitbouw met arkeltorentjes, aan de oostzijde een bescheiden middenrisaliet met topgevel.
De korte gevels zijn voorzien van natuurstenen hoekpilasters met in drie geledingen opgebouwde bekroning, en arkelvormige torentjes halverwege de geknikte, afgeschuinde zijden, de top bekroond door een obelisk. (De gevels aan de westzijde thans gewijzigd.).
Inwendig witgepleisterde wanden met blokgroeven en boogvormige omlijstingen en bovenlangs palmetranden. In top westwand pompstation een allegorische voorstelling van de drinkwatervoorziening in Rotterdam in reliëf. Kapconstructie met geklonken gietijzeren balken.
Filterbedden met filterhuisjes nummers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 23, 24, 25 (alles aangegeven op kaart zone A).
In verschillende stadia vanaf 1873 deels evenwijdig aan elkaar, deels onder een scherpe hoek, aangelegde reeksen filterbedden met bijbehorende filterhuisjes. De filterbedden bestaan uit met baksteen beklede bassins, met uitsluitend rechte wanden van 1000 vierkante meter oppervlak elk. Elk filterhuisje heeft een bakstenen onderbouw in het filterbassin en bevat ter hoogte van de met klinkers bestrate kokerwanden een natuurstenen sokkel; voor het overige is het opgetrokken uit baksteen, afgewisseld met gele ijsselsteen, en een natuurstenen band ter hoogte van de hooggeplaatste dorpels der halfrond afgesloten vensters; het wordt afgedekt door een zinken zadeldak met lantaarnvormige ontluchtingskoker.
Aan de blinde achterzijde bevindt zich plaquette met nummer en bouwjaar.

Description
PUMP STATION BUILDING with machine room and boiler house.
Complex built in eclectic style in 1884-88, extended in 1895, with two protruding wings. Constructed of brick, alternated with yellow IJssel stone, under zinc gabled roofs with lantern roof light and lantern-shaped ventilation flues.
All facades contain semicircular closed windows with wooden glazing bars and simple mouldings, and natural stone arch friezes. The long facades contain pilasters and straight-ended spandrel fields with dental mouldings. On the south side tower-shaped extension with small arcaded turrets, on the east side a modest central projection with pediment gable.
The short facades are provided with natural stone corner pilasters with capping built up in three divisions, and arcaded small turrets halfway along the bent, bevelled sides, the top crowned by an obelisk. (The facades on the west side now altered.)
Internally whiteplastered walls with block grooves and arched mouldings and palmette bands along the top. In the top of the west wall of the pump station an allegorical representation of the drinking water supply in Rotterdam in relief. Roof truss structure with riveted cast iron beams.
Filter beds with filter houses numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 23, 24, 25 (all indicated on map zone A).
Series of filter beds with associated filter houses laid out from 1873 onwards in various stages partly parallel to each other, partly at an acute angle. The filter beds consist of brick-lined basins, with exclusively straight walls of 1000 square metres surface area each. Each filter house has a brick substructure in the filter basin and contains at the height of the clinker-paved gallery walls a natural stone pedestal; for the rest it is constructed of brick, alternated with yellow IJssel stone, and a natural stone band at the height of the highest-placed thresholds of the semicircular closed windows; it is covered by a zinc gabled roof with lantern-shaped ventilation flue.
On the blind rear side there is a plaque with number and year of construction.
