Omschrijving
Resten van het bastion Waldeck in het plantsoen bij het Tongerseplein. Op deze resten is in 1925 het grafmonument van Luitenant-Generaal Destombe uit 1845 opgesteld. Onderaards is de versterking verbonden door middel van een gangenstelsel met het Bossche of Hoge Front (rijksmonument 18172). De ingangen liggen onder bastion Waldeck, het Goeman Borgesius Plantsoen en de Proosdijweg. Ondergronds loopt het gangenstelsel tot de branddeur onder de Pastoor Habetsstraat.

Description
Remains of bastion Waldeck in the plantation at Tongerseplein. On these remains the memorial monument of Lieutenant-General Destombe from 1845 was erected in 1925. Underground the fortification is connected by means of a tunnel system to the Bossche or Hoge Front (national monument 18172). The entrances lie under bastion Waldeck, the Goeman Borgesius Plantation and the Proosdijweg. Underground the tunnel system runs to the fire door under the Pastoor Habetsstraat.
