TOREN der Ned. Herv. Kerk. Tegen het midden van de 13e eeuw werd de zware laat-romaanse zandstenen toren aan de kerk toegevoegd. In 1480, bij de vergroting van de kerk verhoogd. Bij herstelling na de brand van 1862 kreeg de toren een achtkantige lantaarn, die bij de restauratie in 1926/28 plaats maakte voor de huidige spits, terwijl de onderbouw grotendeels vernieuwd werd. De toren heeft een vrij rijk behandelde boogingang. Op de eerste verdieping zijn sporen gevonden van een gewelfde torenkapel. In de vierde geleding vernieuwde twee- en driedelige romano-gotische galmgaten. Gerestaureerd 1991. Trommelspeelwerk van Van Bergen, 1951.

Description
TOWER of the Dutch Reformed Church. Around the middle of the 13th century the heavy late-Romanesque sandstone tower was added to the church. In 1480, when the church was enlarged, it was heightened. During restoration after the fire of 1862 the tower received an octagonal lantern, which during the restoration in 1926/28 was replaced by the present spire, while the substructure was largely renewed. The tower has a richly treated arch entrance. On the first storey traces of a vaulted tower chapel have been found. In the fourth storey renewed two- and three-part Romanesque-Gothic sound holes. Restored 1991. Carillon mechanism by Van Bergen, 1951.
