"Kasteelemplacement". Aan de noord-oostzijde van de oude stad bij het "Voorburg" het omgrachte terrein met funderingsresten van het voormalige kasteel te Culemborg en de voorburcht van dit slot. Op het terrein een uit de 16e eeuw daterend opgaand restant van de noordmuur van een westelijke uitbreiding (1525-1574). Het muurrestant is 10,80 m lang en 3,25 m hoog; de dikte varieert tussen 0,65 en 0,70 m. Het onderliggende fundament heeft een dikte van ca 1,20 m. Het bevat stenen van diverse afmetingen, maar het grootste gedeelte is opgetrokken uit bakstenen van ca 28 en 34 cm lengte. In het muurwerk schietgaten met spleetvormige opening aan de oorspronkelijke buitenzijde en een getrapte uitmetseling aan de oorspronkelijke binnenzijde. Tevens aan de oorspronkelijke buitenzijde een dichtgemetseld venster. De rechthoekige gevelopening is voorzien geweest van een boogvormige afsluiting uitgevoerd in baksteenkoppen.

"Castle site". On the north-east side of the old town at the "Voorburg" the ditched terrain with foundation remains of the former castle at Culemborg and the outer fortification of this castle. On the terrain an upstanding remnant dating from the 16th century of the north wall of a western extension (1525-1574). The wall remnant is 10.80 m long and 3.25 m high; the thickness varies between 0.65 and 0.70 m. The underlying foundation has a thickness of approximately 1.20 m. It contains stones of various dimensions, but the greater part is built up of bricks of approximately 28 and 34 cm length. In the masonry gun ports with slit-shaped opening on the original outer side and stepped infill on the original inner side. Also on the original outer side a filled-in window. The rectangular gable opening was provided with an arched closure executed in brick headers.
